how did i do
you installed proprietary software, 0/10
not to mention 4 fucking browsers
>>52050975
You've taken your first step into a larger world.
>>52051000
Chrome for normie stuff, firefox + plugins for chans and porn, tor for fun.
If OP is doing web dev then they'll need more than 4 browsers.
>>52050975
Why Slackware?
>>52051000
>there are people in /g/ that only uses 1 browser
>>52051000
>only having an allen wrench in your toolbox
You shouldn't be using the root account for pretty much anything unless really needed.
>>52051106
im on my user account and used su- to compile that thing to show the logo
is there a better way?
>>52051065
in 2004 when i got trillian instant messenger there was a "slackware" skin and i've been really curious about it ever since. so when it came time to install linux, i took the 4chan method and said "whats the most off the wall shit i can install"
>>52051405
sudo <command>
you'll have to add your users to the sudoers tho.
>>52051405
you dont need to build as root btw
Should've used xubuntu
>>52051569
so su - is a toggle and sudo is just for that command? i learned the terminal on puppy so i didnt even know about users until i started slackware
>>52051715
you can have commands run without asking for passwd with the sudoer.file and an alias for the program in .bashrc
>>52051715
yep pretty much. sudo is "super user do". I've never used Slackware but the Arch wiki is usually helpful regardless of what you're on.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sudo
I use Arch, gonna give slackware a spin now though.
>>52050975
Slackware, just like a old school Linux user that started using Linux in the 90s. But isn't slackware a pain in the ass?don't you have to manually download all dependencies when installing a new application?
>>52051759
substitute user do actually
>>52051759
Correct, my bad.
>>52051788
wrong pic -.-
>>52051758
/etc/sudoers
NO PASSWORD = /usr/bin/iw
.bashrc
alias iw="sudo iw"
Whats a "joj"?
How noob accessible is slackware, assuming I have the basic ability to use the wiki
