Hey guys. I am building myself a gaming PC and would like to see what you think of my build.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k
GPU: Gigabyte nVidia GeForce GTX960 OC 4GB
Motherboard: Asus MB Z97-k LGA 1150, Intel Z97
Cooler: Zalman CNPS9900A
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB ddr3
Storage: Toshiba HDD 1TB
I also need a PSU, is Chieftec 600w gonna be good enough? And I guess optical drive and case arent that important so I will look for it later.
ALSO:
Is 960 gonna bottleneck the CPU?
>>52050621
noone?
Fuck off
>>52050621
Read the rules faggot, /g/ is NOT your personal tech support team.
960 won't be a bottleneck. 600w is enough for a single gpu system. Check the form factor of your mainboard when you choose a case. This mainboard won't fit into a micro-ATX case.

Suck dicks to be honest family.

Tnx f.am.

do yourself a favor, buy a r9 280x/285/380 or a second hand 290/290x (preferably without the reference cooler 95c). The 950 is mediocre, the 960 is a slight bump up yet still shitty. The 970 is great but 3.5. the 980 isn't worth it price to performance. The 980ti is the only single nvidia gpu worthwhile but I'm guessing it's out of your budget.

I was so torn between 380 and 960. In the end I chose 960 because its newer, drivers will be updated more often and amd cards run hotter and I am cheaping out on the case (idk if the airflow is gonna be very good, so the cooler card the better.)
oh hey, the 4gb 960 thread spammer faggot kiddie who plays gta v in his imagination
Every single thing can be found on jewgle in 10 minutes. Go be a retard somewhere else
>>52051182
i'd do the same, but if you keep an eye out on ebay you should be able to get one for $160 or less.
i wouldn't go for that cpu cooler unless you're getting a great deal on it. better to just get something like the coolermaster 212 evo.
>>52051182
ok buddy, good luck when nvidia drops support for optimizing games in your architecture like kepler.
Fuck off to /wsr/
>>52051962
good luck with everything amd does and doesn't do. there's a reason a lot of people don't bother with that company anymore.
>>52051986
Gee, thanks for the generic response. Amd cpu's are garbage for high end so It's not like I'm defending the company. A viable reason to go nvidia would be VM pci passthrough, cuda, or linux. For geymen performance in the 150-350 price point, AMD gpu's are ahead of nvidia.
Back to /v/ manchild
>>52052116
i used to buy amd's video cards. the extra 3% of average frames per price point just isn't worth the constant little problems.
remember to report off topic posts and redirect them to the proper boards /g/

Retard.
>drivers will be updated more often
AMD have released more drivers than Nvidia this calendar year.
>amd cards run hotter
Oh yeah, a 190W TDP is a real killer.
You deserve what you're getting, tech-illiterate scum.

I've had nothing but problems with Nvidia drivers this year. I've got a GTX 770 and every driver update seems to ruin performance in recent titles. I've also had frequent driver crashes, shadowplay working at random and graphical glitches. Get a r9 380 and do yourself a favour. The GTX 960 is utter shit.
who wants to see my comp specs

Is 970 better? I might be getting it.
>>52053305
The GTX 970 performs better in almost all cases. But does it perform £100 better? That's up to you. Check out the benchmarks. If you're looking for something around the GTX 970 price range, the R9 390 is slightly cheaper (by like £30-50) and the performance isn't much worse than a GTX 970. I don't think the R9 390x is worth it. The performance difference between the 390 and 390x doesn't justify the price difference to me, especially when you can overclock easily overclock the 390.
