Hi /g/,
Is bitcoin dead ?
Is there any point in investing huge money on mining hardware at this time ?
A friend of my boss apparently bought some mining hardware for $25k but he knows nothing about computers, so they're asking for my help. What's the current state, is it worth it for a normal pay? Will the man get rich?
considerate bump
saged, but you won't make your money back now with btc
that ship sailed years ago

I didn't spend any money. If anything, I will get some money anyway. Someone else bought the rig without knowing much about computers.
So I'm just going to set up the mining for him and maybe maintain it. I should get some low-wage for ~1hrs of work a day
>Is bitcoin dead ?
no

probably no

no
>Will the man get rich?
hopefully not
He should have bought 25k worth of BTC rather than mining HW in >2015.

Yes, that's what I was thinking.
But I don't know if I should try and talk him out of it, or go with it and get some sort of payment for setting it all up.

leave him and get the $$$

>Is bitcoin dead ?
no, it's still the no.1. payment method for drugs
>Will the man get rich?
nah, i doubt he'll get his investment back within his lifetime
Still good, I buy some random shit with BTC.
I mined 30 bitcoins back when GPU mining was hitting it's limit.
It's useful whenever I want to buy something online, plenty of places accept it.

It all depends how cheap you can get your electricity

That would be smart anon. It went up for like 100$ in a month.
I have about $80 in btc and I've found quite a few uses for it

The only way I use my bitcoin is trading, gambling, or buying food from the small Indian restaurant in my town.
But 80 dollars? That must have taken around two weeks to mine.
