The APU on the xbone is dogshit to be honest. It proves that DDR3 RAM is not enough memory bandwidth for a GPU. The xbone can only render mostly in 720p while the PS4 can render most games in 1080p.
I fucking hate consoles but I have to admit Sony did a great job of implementing an powerful APU with bitching fast gddr5 vRAM for vydia.

Meh. I kind of wish that I bought a PS4 instead of my bone (I have a gaming PC for most games, console for multiplayer). I ended up getting the Xbone for free so I don't feel too much remorse though. Essentially if a game is available for PC I am unlikely to buy it for my console.

The CPU is dogshit yeah but you have to admit the iGPU has nice specs (at least for the PS4). 1152 gpu shaders @ 720-800 MHz with GDDR5 vRAM @ 176 GB/s is breddy gud.

true, but M$ always moves forward in the market. Right now, a home console + paid TV feels forced, but it won't be the case in a few years. Just like tablet pc's and smartphones felt forced back in 2001 when M$ was making the first ones.
Home consoles (and particularly handhelds) are being left behind in favor of casual gaming devices (Android and iOS platforms). Manufacturers know this and are making changes to their products in order to take the hit (the home console/handheld hybrid nintendo nx, the extra functions of the xbone, the insanely long lifespan planned for the ps4 and Sony dropping their efforts on the Vita)
In any case the future of gaming is grim, all thanks to casualfags. They're just too many to be irrelevant, and manufacturers always go for the larger market.

because GDDR5 is awful for system tasks you dolt. That's why only GPUs use it because it's only good at one thing. APUs serve no purpose other than powering laptops which aren't designed for graphic intensive programs/games anyways so I don't see what your point is.

I'm not saying replace system RAM with GDDR5, jesus christ. All I'm saying is for AMD to allow motherboard manufacturers to solder on 512MB maybe a 1GB if they're generous of fast GDDR5 vRAM. This would allow people to at least play 1080p vydia at low settings but decent framerates thus eliminating the need for entry level dedicated GPUs and make pc gayming overall less costly.
