If they shrunk alac files to half size, it'd be game over for audio quality. Audio engineers barely use 96k. The 24 bit depth will make a difference though.
Apple is offsetting the dac to whatever the manufacturer wants to put in. Across all future headphones, stereos, docks etc. Very disappoint, son.
