I have an i3-3220 and thinking of upgrading my processor without breaking the bank. What's a good upgrade? I'm thinking of getting a i5-3330.
Bump? Anybody?
Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't the 2500 use LGA1155?

Yeah, it does. Is that still a worthy upgrade?

Hey, it seems to be faster than the 3330 looking up benchmarks and seems to go for cheaper, so yeah, that's really helpful. Thanks.

if you have a mobo that can oc, look up second hand on ebay 2500k,2600k,3570k,3770k. If you have an oem mobo and don't plan on upgrading get a cheap i5/i7 (Doesn't have to be K) socket 1155.

It's a shitty motherboard in a cramped case designed for a HTPC, so overclocking isn't really an option. But, yeah, I'm eyeing a cheap Ivy Bridge processor. I think I've found a poorly labelled one on eBay so lets see what it sells for.
Processors are fucking expensive these days. I guess the slow pace of CPU development coupled with Intel steadily ratcheting up their new prices means that second-hand prices remain high.
Anyone here any good at translating retard?

Lol well this person is selling a motherboard, i7 (probably a 920), and 8 gb of ram preinstalled.
>>51948649
Yeah, I was kind of kidding, it's just a fascinatingly terrible listing. No feedback is a little worrying, though.
>>51948649
It's not a 920 btw. That's a 1155 motherboard, it's likely a i7-3820
>>51948708
Wait, that's wrong, it's a 1150. So it's probably something even better.

i had exactly i3 3220 and upgraded to 3570k i see no difference may be +2 fps but not much

It's not really for gaming, it's more that I notice my PC being a bit sluggish at times, despite having an SSD/8gb RAM, so it's probably the CPU that is the bottleneck.
