Mod you guys realize that all battery cases are ugly and bulky? Apples is at least somewhat nice looking and fits the design ethos of the device.
Apple has been making some weird design choices for sure but you can't honestly tell me anything else comes close to design. No android phone looks or feels as nice as an iPhone. No android tablet looks as good as an iPad. No laptop looks as good as a rMBP. I have a 5X and a 6S and the 5X is aesthetically a joke compared to my iPhone. It's just a big bulky plastic black rectangle. The fucking volume rocker isn't even in a good position

My main complaint about the G5 case was only 2 3.5" bays. They addressed this in the later x86-64 Mac Pros. I have a G4 PowerMac with this hinged design though and it's pretty nice. It would have been better had SATA been available at the time because it's a chore connecting 2 side by side IDE HDDs using 1 cable.

There's no hope for people with no taste. The iPhone is way more aesthetically pleasing than the 5X. It's got smooth curved sides and the aluminum feels great in the hand. The way it's cold to the touch in the morning. The buttons are chamfered on the sides and are very tactile and clicky. It's light in the hand.
The 5X is plastic. It's got ugly as speaker grills on the top and bottom. The buttons are all on one side and don't have much tactile feedback. They just mush in. The volume buttons accidentally get triggered because they're in a terrible position. The phone is fucking wide and super tall, making it unwieldy in one hand. The sides are boxy which means it's got edges that dig into your hand when holding it. You can see the split between the front and back pieces of the housing on the bottom when looking at the ports. The speaker sounds like shit and goes so loud it just sounds muddled. The sensor for the auto brightness sucks ass. Mine constantly turns the brightness up or down when laying in bed.
There's nothing premium feeling or looking about the 5X or any Android phone. No surprise considering they're all made for niggers and curries.

This looks a little different and I am unfamiliar with hard drive layout. It looks like they now stack hard drives, but only appears to fit 2 3.5" drives. Can you fit 1 more drive, under where the heat sink would be location, when closed?
The old way you have 3 3.5" slots laying horizontally on the bottom of the case. This is were you run into issue trying to connect 2 IDE drives with one ribbon. It can be done with long ribbon cables, but it's still an inconvenient stretch.

As one of those faggot "creative" pros I can tell you that it's quite the opposite actually. One of the reasons people are holding onto those old Macs for dear life was that they had a bunch of expansion slots. I know two other people, one graphic illustrator and one t-shirt shop owner / custom screenprinter who use older Macs because they have a *working* good profitable workflow that they know inside and out.
People love their big older Mac towers. One fella has a couple SHARC DSPs on a card that he uses to accelerate Photoshop.

I'm trying to think of some new capability we have now compared to say 20 or even 35 years ago and am struggling. Shit's faster but also bloated to hell and generally engineered to a much lower level of quality.
Compare the Nokia Startac to a modern smartphone - the Startac's smaller, has a much MUCH greater battery life, and is fully engineered.
A modern smartphone just uses whatever component are cheapest and easiest to integrate and if the battery only lasts 2 days, well that's great because everything else is that shitty too these days.
