It's got good reviews, and unlike Dell and Lenovo they haven't had an incident yet where they compromised the HTTPS system on the entire laptop by installing an untrusted root cert.
Or installing said adware in the UEFI to reload it from a clean install like Lenovo. I've had a bad opinion of Acer for years as well, but everything I read up on this model only had the complaint of a crappy touchpad - which is par for the course.
Basically, it was a good price for decent hardware and I couldn't find any valid reason not to get it.

How'd I do? Already have case, psu, ssd. Etc. Haswell intel HD should have no problem pushing 1440p at 60hz should it? This build is for school and general use. No gaming. I'd like to avoid buying a dedicated gpu if at all possible.
