What's a good digital audio player?
-Budget: $100 (the more surplus the better; I'd like to buy other things)
-comes with decent stock earphones (otherwise I'd buy Piston 3s)
-must play OGG Vorbis (could care less about FLAC, but thou shall not separate me from my open format)
-can manage at least a workday of playtime while playing
-would really like it to scrobble
-a clip is also nice (since not all clothes I wear have pockets)
-good build quality is desired (I can buy cheap chink players by the dozen but would rather not)
-doesn't sound shit when listening to jazz and jazz accessories
-is at least competitive to my current setup involving Clementine and Turtlebeach Ear Force Shadow headphones
You know, something with which I can do what I have been doing, but do it outside or while cleaning. What have you got?
Is it the picture? I wasn't so confident with the picture. I wanted to post this.

Is that Dimitry from Hardware Canucks?
>>51934133
It very well could be.
If you hear "vorbis" and your stomach starts growling, you might be a redneck.
>>51936148
Why?
>>51936610
It sounds like an exotic game animal. At least I think it does. Here's Abe Lincoln.
>>51936649
I don't want to eat something called vorbis.
Abe Lincoln sounds exotic too. I want to eat Lincoln.
>>51936723
Sure? People seem to like those wildebeest.
>>51936841
Get me a trump of lincoln bruh.

If you are planning to use piston tier headphones with it then just use your smartphone. If you are just looking to throw your money on something then get FiiO X1 or something like that.

>those veins
I want to bite them.

Who owns a smartphone these days?
poasting q t's
sansa clip plus owner here, I discovered I need touch screen really badly, but also need legacy hardware throwbacks like SD card slot and removable battery
Is there any MP3 player that has all three of the following:
- touch screen
- removable battery (pref AA or AAA or something common)
- SD card slot (32GB or higher)
Surely, with billions of people in Asia and sizable electronics industries in those countries, there must be at least one model that fits all these requirements?
Or am I better off just using my phone
It's only a matter of time before this thread gets deleted now.
DAPs are memes
its all phones now

So what's a good smartphone I can get for $100 minus the cost of earphones bearing in mind that I'd like surplus?
>>51940258
I don't think you can buy anything for $100 unless you get a massive deal on some used shit somewhere
You can get a Samsung Galaxy Ace for ~$150. That would be the first one, not Ace 2 or Ace 3

+Removable battery, SD card, touch screen, fairly sturdy for a phone, decent sound chip (for a phone built in 2011)
- shitty phone, shitty screen, shitty CPU/GPU, built in 2011
If you're looking purely for something that plays music, it can help to think of it as an MP3 player that also makes calls and takes photos.
MP3 players as a commodity were amongst the hardest rekt of products with the advent of the smartphone (along with cheap digital watches and alarm clocks). I know some meme companies and Sony make $1000+ shit for audiophiles with cash to burn
>>51933455
My fucking dick.
>>51941944
you rike?
So there really does not exist a middle ground between the $20 chink players that Amazon sells by the dozen and the $300 DAPs for audiophiles?
>>51942030
Post your whole collection.
For the most part, only the extremes are made because I assume they make the most profit. Need to milk all the money out of audiophiles.

If only you asked me before I purged my computer of pornographic imagery back when /r9k/ convinced me it was a good idea.
>>51942102
>listening to /r9k/
You threw away something valuable.
The Note II has a legendary DAC and battery life

I'm working on rebuilding tho
