Suspend it. Never turned it off since like 2000 when I first got it.
Suspend if I'm away for a while.
Power off if I'm away for more than a day.

I used to leave it on when it wasn't me paying the bills
Then I used to hibernate when my pc wasn't all bloated and slow
Now suspending is the only option so I don't have to wait 15 minutes just for it to power back on.

I close my computer and take it with me.
I'll reboot it sometimes just to revel in my 7 second boot times and when debian pushes a linux kernel patch.

Hibernate. I have 12GB of fs cache I don't want to lose.
Sleep. My PC hasn't been turned off since I moved out three years ago.
Turn it off because power bills.

I let it sleep for about 30-60 minutes before I go to school, while I'm taking it to school. Chances are I won't be able to use it untill after a 50 minute class and I'm not doing anything with it so might as well.
