This is a hacking method,
mail a flash drive infected with BadUSB to the target. A mysterious gold flash drive - Who cant resist plugging it in? So you do, now your USB firmware is permanently infected (BadUSB is un-removable) and now the hacker can execute any arbitrary code on the machine. Maybe you used a throwaway PC to check it out? Better hope that machine wasnt connected to any network.
