I just received this in my mail today. I was not expecting any packages, especially from what I'm racistly assuming is China. It's about the size of a credit card and feels as heavy as a battery, but maybe not so big.

My instinct is to call the FBI after I post about it on /g/

This is a hacking method,
mail a flash drive infected with BadUSB to the target. A mysterious gold flash drive - Who cant resist plugging it in? So you do, now your USB firmware is permanently infected (BadUSB is un-removable) and now the hacker can execute any arbitrary code on the machine. Maybe you used a throwaway PC to check it out? Better hope that machine wasnt connected to any network.
>>
write a file to it and verify it to see if it's really 16GB or something lesser masquerading as 16GB like most no-name Chinese flash drives are
>>
>24.0 KB
does it have any hidden files
>>
>>51922034

>>51922319
that's because the storage itself is irrelevant, it's whatevers on the USB drive's firmware that has infected your computer with some undetectable chink virus.

Someone hates you and filled the envelope with anthrax.

You're fucked.
>>
>>51923606

Even better, there's anthrax, ebola, smallpox and hiv inside the gold bar, with a decaying seal membrane. In 3 months or so, it bursts and spews that delicious disease goo out as droplets. I'd incinerate it right now.

Just put it in a neighbors mailbox with a note that says add one instruction and pass this to the next person. If it ends up back at your door, you have to follow all instructions even if it means sudoku.

One time I got a M.2 128GB SSD from newegg, mysteriously.

Just arrived. On my newegg account, it was labled as a "$0" purchase with no associated product.

Pretty sure it's NSA-inside, but I put it in my laptop anyway. Works great. Never asked Newegg about it.
