1st year Electrical Engineering student looking to master basic circuit analysis. I have pSpice installed, looking for other software that will help me get a better understanding

Drag and drop simulation programs for doing your homework aren't going to help you understand basic circuit analysis the same way testbenches, practical lab experience and in-class learning will. Can't say I'm surprised though, if you're having so much trouble with babby's first circuits class, just drop out now and save your parents the money.

If you want to get an intuitive feel for EM wave propagation, look at FEM analysis like HFSS or FDTD like OpenEMS (if on Linux). It can be very eye opening to learn from a more 3-D perspective over time.

where did I say that, lol kill yourself

Does that guy's head look small to anyone else?
legit if you want to learn circuit analysis before class, download the Math Tutor dvd set or at least the engineering circuits section. (and download the nilsson and schaum's 700 fully solved problems)
You'll need to lean the paper theory first before simulation helps.

Try to get Texas instruments multisim. It's pretty good.
Your institution may have it on lab computers.
I guess this thread is as good as any to ask. I'm going to be a third year EE student. I have done pretty well on my math and physics classes so far. The problem is that i don't actually know what I'm doing. The math is hard but i can usually reason it out but i truly don't understand the physics.
I was wondering if i am ever gonna get the hang of the physics because i feel like not knowing anything physics related will eventually catch up to me.
Anyone got any advice or tips. help me /g/

Definitely this book. If you want the syllabus for my network theory class I can provide what we went over this semester.

>doing Mechatronic Engineering
>practically electronic engineering with some other classes
>uni decides to remove my degree
>now I have to study 'general engineering'
The degree is almost the same as my mech one, except I have to take a business class. Plus I get 6 months of guaranteed internships.
Will people care about the name of my degree?

>not writing your own FEM software from scratch
fukkin EE plebs

V=IR you fucking idiot.
>>51871457
>practical lab experience and in-class learning
If you're doing things this late, you're already fucked.
Gotta understand circuits by age 14 or you're literally FUCKED.
Just kidding. You should've encouraged him to explore other options besides the slow pace of modern education, you fucklord.

what are you if not EE? Physics? I was a physics undergrad but EE is immensely more useful, and on average an EE is way more likely to have programming skills than a physicist

so... you're enlightened by your degree more than any phony employer could ever understand? or what are you trying to say? just trying to sound clever?
>>51871403
switch to software engineering.
>>51874185
yeah, what is it?

This is good advice.

>>51874230
>practically electronic engineering
kek that's a good one unless you actually mean shit-tier ELECTRONIC engineering and not god-tier electrical.
>>51872129
Strangely enough this may be the same book in a different publication?
But yeah this book is excellent in teaching fundamentals of circuitry to circuits with further complexity
At that stage, I recommend working tirelessly out of a text-book, computerized assistance materials may only distract you from learning as I found out

EE pleb here. I actually did it, the absolute madman that I am.

yeah, it's the international version. personally, I use the 9th edition as I have the answer book and I can check my answers.
