I made the mistake of showing my power level at work to one of the other nurses and made her a part list for a normie tier home PC. She didn't seem very interested and I figured she would just blow it off, and I wouldn't have to live with the mistake I made.
Well today she said she has all the parts and is bringing them for me to put it together on Friday. I know how to make a computer, that's not the problem. The problem is how do I make sure this doesn't happen again and that I don't become level 1 personal tech support?
Also dubs decides what OS I install on it. I'll just write it off to her as "well you didn't pay for a windows license".

I remember having a laptop with intel hd graphics a while back and it couldn't handle photoshop at 720p without being all laggy and shit

What I do in that situation is make them build it with my supervision. That way they learn a little and each time they ask for support I teach them a little more and refer them back to them being the one that built it s they know any problems are down to them.

I was just saying some dumb shit. Speaking from the past, my first case was a phantom 410(?) and looking back I hated it. Cheap plastic erry where.
Second case was the bitfenix prodigy but cable management was a bitch and it looked like a toy.
Final case I've had for ~2 years is the NZXT h630. I really like it, even though it is a big ol' heavy monstrosity. That being said, I would personally go for the H440, but I've also heard great things about the R4.
Make sure you get a case you'll like since it's what you see everyday.

They're good, but stick with a single 980ti. I got my 2nd 980 for really cheap.
Also all you need is a 4690k at most. I only went for a 4790k because microcenter brought it down to the price of a 4690k from most major retailers when bundled with my SSD and mobo. I budgeted for the 4690k and walked out with a 4790k for $239 back in February.

So your RAM has some big ol heatsinks on it and you have a big ol cpu cooler. I have a large one too:

And I had to get low profile RAM otherwise the RAM would have gotten in the way. Something to check into with that motherboard... that is: Will there be enough clearance for the RAM with the cooler installed.
Also make sure your case has enough width to support that CPU cooler. I can't be bothered to research it at the moment :(
