Ubuntu. Don't try to download drivers from Nvidia's site like you're using Windows, either use the drivers utility in the Software Updater program or look up the Nvidia drivers PPA if you need them to be more up to date.
Also, if you don't like Unity (I don't either), try Lubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME or MATE edition, etc

I bought the 970 from Newegg, returned it (unopened) for the 390 and they actually refunded me the money for the card and the 99 cents for the bundle AFTER I redeemed it. They don't check shit if you buy an 'expensive' item. I had premiere as well to be fair though.

It's alright, the 390 is the better card, but the price minus the game being sold was too much to just pass by. I also run multiple low refresh monitors, something Hawaii unfortunately doesn't do well. Besides, it's there to hold me off until next gen. I'd love to go with Arctic Islands.

the only thing i really see that's superior w/r/t the 390 is no 3.5, but otherwise it's generally not gonna overclock as well as a 970 and if you do manage a good overclock it's gonna run a lot hotter as well

I got the same card. Currently thinking of paying $300 to step it up to a 980ti. Anyone ever done a step up before? it's my first EVGA card since a GTX 275 I got from them that still works.
$300 is basically the price of a new 970 which kinda makes not want to do it.
