i'm not that guy but i just want to say that if you lease out a 980ti from cutting edge gamer you can get a free upgrade to pascal it releases, and then you can just buy out the pascal card at the end of the term.
it's a pretty great deal right now if you have pascal in mind but want a new card now. it's what i plan on doing once i buy the 1440p freesync monitor i have my eye on.

all maxwell chips overclock pretty much the same (they become unstable past 1500mhz, some of the low end cards can be pushed further due) so the factory OC doesn't matter. just buy the best cooler/price model.

Maxwell is the 980, my 980 G1 gaming runs in valley for ages without a single artifact or issue at 1494MHz boosted at stock mem clock.
When I load up almost any game such as COH2, it TDRs a few minutes in returning to factory clockspeeds. Hell I've tried clocking it down a fair amount down to 1400 and it still TDRs but after a longer period of time. Didn't win the lottery with this one.
Perhaps if I bump up the voltage a bit I can squeeze some more out of it but fuck that, rather not kill the card quicker for a few frames.
