Should I get this monitor, is it a meme monitor?

24" is about the limit of FullHD. Panel is nice, the IPS glow isn't too bad on mine, bezels are obviously awesome.

Power button is a bitch.
>>
>>51840372
This, plus backlight seems a little darker near the left and the right bezel. Bothered me at first, now I've gotten used to it. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Was just actually about to make a thread regarding this monitor. I'm looking into getting Triple U2414Hs, or Triple U2415's. I know that the U2415 is a OLED display, and 16:10 @ 1920x1200. Would it be worth getting the U2415 over the U2414H? I have the GPU/CPU power so it's not a problem. This is mainly for Productivity, and gaming. I've owned a Ultrawide Curved but I want to go back 2 triple monitor.
>>
Where does /g/ get their hardware from anyway? I usually get my shit from BestBuy because free shipping + they'll replace everything for free if the delivery guy fucks something up like a fucking degenerate because he's body slamming packages and shit.

Is NewEgg the only other place? I never really order from them because their prices are fucking retarded most of the time.
>>
>>51840516
Most of the time from Amazon. I agree on NewEggs pricing to be shit dick.
>>
>>51840573

amazon for me, I have prime, plus new egg's tracking and customer service are shit compared to amazon's. Plus Amazon's return policy is a lot better.
>>
>>51840486
If you want 16:9 compatibility, U2414H. If not, U2415.

The U2415 doesn't have a 16:9 mode and if you attempt to force aspect ratio lock it'll stretch anyway.
>>
>>51840486
Also both are essentially the same IPS monitors barring resolution and aspect ratio. If you're thinking of the U2414H, check the firmware. Earlier firmware doesn't play nice with certain multi-monitor setups, although I believe it was fixed with an update. No such problems for the U2415 since it came out later.

Are you even aware what that word means?

No, this is not tumblr
Anyway, thanks for reminding me that 16:10 monitors still exist, might get one of these in the future
>>
>>51840372
Can confirm all of this, but want to add they're known to have problems with DisplayPort every once in a while.
If your resolution's suddenly fucked, unplugging and replugging the power cord might fix it, or you might have to disable and re-enable DP1.2 in the on-screen menu.
>>
>>51840486
Source on u2415 being oled?
>>
>>51840486
>u2415
>oled
it is most certainly not
>>
>>51841018
What exactly does this mean? Like how will it affect me playing a 1920x1080 game? I don't plan on plugging any shit like a xbox into it
>>
>>51842031
It doesn't have 1-to1 pixel mapping? I'm not sure really.
>>
>>51841914
>>51841946
He's probably referring to what amazon says in the comparison chart for it.

Don't know why they don't fix that already.
>>
>>51842031
>>51842051

Most monitors stretch the image if it's not the native resolution, I guess this one does too
What it means is that if you plug a console in it, the image will be stretched, but if you are using it with a PC and set the resolution to 1920x1200 the image will be fine.
>>
For some reason the prices for dell monitors here are retarded. They are literally convert the dollar to a euro sign here. IIyama is usually best value here.
>>
One other thing, I currently have a generic Samsung 1080p TN. Would it really be worth it to upgrade to a U2415?
>>
>>51840516
amazon because prime and customer service are GOAT and the returns are easy as shit. And if I leave things in my cart it lets me know if the prices have changed. And amazon warehouse is pretty great.

I get one or two things from best buy but usually amazon has better prices
>>
>>51842343
Probably not.
>>
Stop being a faggot and get the U2515H.
>>
>>51842343
Some TNs are okay but most are absolute rubbish when it comes to color reproduction and contrast values, not even to mention the viewing angles. Usually going from TN to IPS or MVA is a pretty significant upgrade.
>>
>>51843056
That's what I'm hearing. Just not sure if it's significant enough to justify ~$240
>>
>>51840486

Get the U2515. Had to RMA my 2414 2 times and both times according to the internets it was a common error with the monitor
>>
Would it be fool hardy to get a TN 144hz for gaming and a IPS for general use?
>>
>>51843488
i got my U2414H for $200 :D
>>
>glow
>BLB

plebs
>>
>>51843488
Amazon have them for ~$215, which is probably the cheapest you'll find, and
honestly a pretty good deal.

>>51844364
Newegg sale? I got one for $200 too. Got it with a bundle for a rosewill rgb80 that was only $40.
>>
>>51843961
DisplayPort-related bullshit?
>>
>>51840207
U2515H is better imo.
>>
>>51844762
Not him, but I *think* that's been rectified with the latest revisions
>>
OLED Monitors when?
>>
>>51840516
Amazon and newegg if buying online, Microcenter if actually going to a store. Fuck Best Buy and their shit prices and old hardware.
>>
>>51844914
Oh? When did they bring out a new revision?
I recently had some DisplayPort-related problems which I managed to fix for now, but I have no idea for how long. It might be worth returning it for a new revision model if that's the case.

I've been rused by Amazon. So it's a IPS Display?
>>
>>51843961
What was the issue with the 2414hs you had?
>>
>>51845152
Yup, it's IPS with LED backlight as far as I know.
>>
>>51845039
I'm not sure when. But I poked around on Google and it seems that revision A03 seems to have significantly less problems. I may be wrong though.

>>51845152
It's IPS. Check this link out. There's some good info here.
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2415.htm
>>
>>51845209
After a bit of digging I found that someone bought a revision A03 in december 2014 already, mine's from march 2015. Haven't looked at the actual revision number yet, but if I had to guess I'd say I have an A03 too.
>>
>>51841166
are you new or what?
>>
>>51845354
That's a bummer. I'm not sure how to check, but you should. It's possible you got an old stock model.
>>
Does anyone know why the 24" and 27" Dell 4k monitors are not Ultrasharp? I used to think that Ultrasharp = IPS, but they're "P Series" and still IPS.

Those are really good deals compared to the U2515H, which is the other monitor I'm considering.
>>
>>51846261
The Ultrasharp line has the super-thin bezels and a calibrated sRGB profile from the factory. The P-series uses almost the same panels, has thicker bezels and doesn't come calibrated from the factory, but they are a bit cheaper.
>>
>>51844762
>DisplayPort-related bullshit?

Yes. Other one was faulty on/off button so it kept turning itself off
>>
>>51846389
>faulty on/off button
Oh jesus, that sounds like hell.
>>
>>51846325
Thanks for the info.
>>
>>51843488
Your TN should be faster, If you care about fast crisp movement for gaming don't buy it m8
>>
>>51840207
its a nice monitor, try to check if it is on a deal, probably if you live in the US you can get some korean/chink monitor with a nice panel on a better price.

I have a U2715H and its fucking great for regular use, some gaming and working.
>>
Not OP
I've got a philips 221TE4L and I'm considering switching to a HP 27vx, should I have better color and anything or is the only difference their dimensions?
>>
>>51840464
What bezels?
>>
>getting a non-ultrawide monitor
yup, it's a meme
