Joined the masterrace for a sideproject (iOS app), ask me anything. Normally I'm a WP dev, so ask about that too...

Tell me how much you paid and how it feels

is that running in a VM?

why haven't you gassed yourself yet?

Paid for what? I used a friends MacBook to set up a bootable USB stick with El Capitan, and installed it with Clover on a secondary HDD on my T420.

See above, not a VM.

Friends place, not mine... used his Mac to make an USB with El Capitan.
>OSX on non Apple hardware
Were you following a particular tutorial? I can't seem to get my laptop to boot from a HSF USB.

Was lucky enough that someone made a tutorial for this exact laptop. When I took the project I was like "Yeah, I got a Mac, I can do the iOS app as well..."
Glad it worked out, no idea what I'd use as a build machine otherwise, probably rent a Mac in Cloud or some shit...

If I would install it on a HDD and then put it in my laptop do you think it would work?

What does unemployment feel like?

I can always go back to being a .net dev, but freelancing WP has been more than a good for quite some time now.

Hi,
Did you ever have to overcome the problem with application not doing stuff if the WP screen is locked and app does not have the main focus?
It drives me mental, that I have to use an old blackberry phone to set the alarm for i.e. cooking because WP will never ring if the app is not on focus.
After an hour if you unlock your phone and open alarm app it will start ringing.
Is there something screwed up on architectural lvl, or people just don't know how to write such application?
I am a C#.NET dev myself, but never wrote anything for WP and I was wondering WTF is wrong with this particular scenario.

Make a background task, the app gets suspended when the screen gets locked. Either that, or make it keep the screen on all the time.
But yeah, background tasks...

No no, I am not going to develop that.
I have 40+ hours a week of Exchange/Windows Server and Azure/O365 mumbo-jumbo Google Apps on the side.
So I would simply like to enjoy my time off and just be able to set the goddamn alarm clock in my kitchen! :D How complex can this be to implement :D

It sounds worse than it actually is... one lunch break on MVA (there's a great 30 minutes session on background tasks) and you'll fix it.
