Work in Microbiology.

All the engineers I met through uni were the worst. They were they only people worse than medical students I met. they'd usually brag about their course and how much they'd earn in the first 5 minutes of meeting them.

Jealous about their salary ? Yea. I'd hate to be on a degree full of those people

Is this what med students actually believe?

I know undergrads are retarded, but you seem like you're in high school.

Doctors spend half their life being slaves, then when they hit 45 they can start raking in the benefits. Then they retire a 65.
>>
>>51819326
>but in the end you'll be a heart surgeon.
You're right about that. It's hard but heart surgery is the field I'm most interested in that's why I picked it. If I was all about money and stuff I would have gone into radiology or something.

>>
>>51819374
>Doctors spend half their life being slaves, then when they hit 45 they can start raking in the benefits. Then they retire a 65.
Pretty much this, I've started facing this during my practical semester but I never started medicine because of the money. People think being a doctor is like in one of those TV shows like scrubs or something which is ridiculous. We spend most of our time writing reports, doing routine visits etc.. Shit starts paying off when you're like 40.. so that's what I've been trying to tell you guys. If you're only after money, don't study medicine. There are better fields like Eng, CS etc..

but you make a tangible difference everyday, by helping people.

>half their live being slaves
it really isn't tha much like this..
of course you are not immediatly well off, but it is a great job nontheless, imo.

what you don't get in money, you get in the form of satisfaction and respect.

saving a life is more rewarding than cash, at least this is what i think

>>51819410
yes, the money of medicine is just a plus.

most of the people in med school know that we won't see big money till our 40s, but most of us are in it mainly because we want to make a differece.

of course most the working day is routine, nobody thinks it is a dr. house thing..
>>
>>51819418

> topics we know nothing about then...
yep, when it comes to city planning, you are John Snow.

We make cities that last a thousand years and more.
Engineers build things that last, what, a few decades at the most?
Bridges collapse in a 100 years
Buildings in, may be, 200?
the whole city, as a whole, can easily last 10 times as much.
A city planner gives the city its soul. perfect placement of population centers according to the demography of the land making most efficient use of resources at hand.

We are, may be, not God tier as we don't save lives - but we make human life worth it value by giving them the best standard of living possible.

>>51819387
engineers are still slave labor compared to what I do. a town planner literally orders the engineers what to do.
>make the bridge. but it can't be more than 20 meters broad.
>why?
>cos I SAY SO! Also because because the future projection of population and available resources say so. Do you never think?
>>
>>51819418

see, when you start med school, one of the first classes is anatomy, where you have to work on dead bodies...

it is basically a thing that becomes normal. (almost) everyone at the beginnign found it gross, now we make jokes about gross things...

No, CS is not math. It's a formal science. There are other formal sciences other than math. It's like saying logic is math, which it isn't.

There are different definitions of what math actually is, and Computer Science does fit into most of these.

i'm just trying to improve upon OP's list.
May be i'll make a jpg of it for future posting.

some really great thinkers have been college drop outs, so i might just be right here.
But, of course, I went back to uni and currently am acing my town planning degree course. Apparently, i do have a brain.

Depends. My cousin graduated with his major in psychology last spring. He's got a decent job in Chicago right now doing something completely unrelated. He'll probably end up going back to school for a post-grad degree at some point.

I'm doing a .net program at a technical school right now. Also includes stuff like Html5/CSS3, JavaScript, SQL database design, ASP, a Java elective, and probably stuff I'm forgetting.

>there are countries in which those fields are separated
america pls go and stay go

you can maybe separate "computer engineers" as electrical engineers as a specialization after your first major
but the other three are basically the same if you're not calling your degree from a coding bootcamp a major
