Most OEMs are pants on head retarded and limit the new Carrizo APUs to 15w TDPs and that makes them just as bad or worse performing than Intel equivalents at that power target with no benefits what so ever.
Every AMD laptop i've ever used was a slow and power hungry piece of shit compared to my 8 YEAR OLD core 2 duo thinkpad.
The only places I see that sell AMD laptops are bargain basement places like walmart.

Because for the most part, they are used in shit tier laptops. They aren't even that bad, it's just that OEMs put them in garbage tier bargain bin laptops due to how cheap they are.
I've heard rumors that Apple is considering picking up Zen processors or getting some semi custom processor design from AMD, but the sources that I've heard it from are so unreliable that I might as well just make these rumors up myself.

It's pretty good for its price. He doesn't game so it's fine. HW decoding of h265 is great, 4k h265 playback is smooth.
