I was also looking at the Corsair strafe at $99.

The CM Storm above is $83.

For Arma and similar.

They say red switches are the best.

Since I use mine to type and code, I got blues.
>>
Cooler Master Quickfire Rapid in MX Red, Brown, Or Blue iirc goes for about $80ish new, and they are nice keyboards.
>>
>>51795241
I have reds and it is very good for gaymen cougar 600k to be exact
>>
>>51795278
I'll check it out.

comfy as fuck
>>
Steelseries 6v2 didn't fail me a thing, though I managed to make jump one or two keys.

I think maybe I'm so rude sometimes.
>>
>>51795048
What is it for? Gaming? Typing? Both?

I have CM Quickfire Rapid Cherry MX Brown, CM Quickfire Rapid Cherry MX Blue, an IBM Model M.

Typing only: IBM Model M (hurts while gaming due to high actuation force)
Gaming only: Cherry MX Brown (sucks for typing imo)
Both: Cherry MX Blue (feedback while typing is great, also have good experience while gaming)
>>
>>51797105
Fuck I hate those legends.
>>
>>51797135
not op but are blues really loud? like will the people in the room next to me hear my typing late at night even if i go pretty easy on the board?
>>
>>51797210
Yeah they will but they sure do type good, just get browns you will not be disappointed.
>>
>>51797210
Blues are really loud. So are buckling springs. I don't know how thin your walls are but it's loud enough to hear them right outside the door even when the door is closed.

If you're wondering how loud it is, go to a local computer store who have them, they should have them on display. Try them out!
>>
Browns
White led
ISO layout

What do you recommend?
>>
>>51797210
If you're worried about sound, don't get a buckling spring or blue switches.

Red or Brown switches are silent but browns have the capability to be more silent since you don't have to hit all the way to the bottom.
>>
>>51797259
>>51797254
ah shit theyre pretty thin walls.. yeah maybe browns would be a good idea ill have to try and test some out. its kinda hard to judge sound in a store with different acoustics and all but yeah ill have to go test some. thanks!

YOUR OPINION IS WRONG!!!!!!
>>
>>51795270
switches are subjective. there is no "gaming" switch. Buy a switch tester or go to a store and try them out.
>>
>>51797558
clears are also an option. I have clears and I vastly prefer them to browns, and they're just as quiet, if not quieter.
>>
>>51797105
Exactly what I have, for the space, legnedary. I wish I had space for a full size though, I don't like switching modes for the numpad for csgo
>>

hmm i could dig this. I am not OP bt I am in same boat sort of. I'd change the caps on this though. I want a simple normal sized kb like this and will find key caps on massdrop or where ever else
>>
>>51797135
>keys have specific uses
You fucking idiot, key switches are a marketing gimmick. The only thing that matters is if they're mechanical or rubber dome. Just buy a fucking keyboard and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>51798363
How much was this and where? You csan change caps right? sorry noob to mkb

If you can find it used, try getting a CODE Keyboard, they're pretty basic but very solid. Otherwise if you want to get that 'clean' look that everybody has, you can get a 60% keyboard, like the "POK3R" (Poker 3), Poker II, or the KBParadise v60 (costs like 70 bucks, pic related)
>>
>>51800773
Personally, I can't use those 60% keyboards, or even a ten keyless, but they might be what you're looking for, they seem to be popular in the /bst/ threads.

If you need something more functional, like I mentioned in the earlier post, the CODE Keyboard is solid and functional. If you can spend a little bit more, the Das Keyboard 4 (pic related) is fantastic. It has a solid volume rocker, it's build quality is great, and is full-sized. I think it's $170 new, but you may be able to get one for like $140 if you shop around. It's what I'd recommend over everything else.

If you can't afford it, the Model M is a great piece of hardware that'll last you forever.
>>
>>51795048

obviously the one and only quickfire rapid
>>
>>51798363

the lolita is damn good for its price ill admit. id still fork out a but more for QFR though.

I like my Ajazz ak33. Had some problems with minor keychatter when I got it but some O-rings fixed that.
