They are now doing things that actually matter.

"It was greatly beneficial, but it was just shit."

> We are proud of the benefits Firefox OS added to the Web platform and will continue to experiment with the user experience across connected devices.[...]
>Firefox OS proved the flexibility of the Web, scaling from low-end smartphones all the way up to HD TVs. However, we weren’t able to offer the best user experience possible and so we will stop offering Firefox OS smartphones through carrier channels.

Seriously, what is Mozilla doing?

Pocket is not developed by Mozilla.

>>
>>51760130
Pocket doesn't add anything but a couple of lines to Firefox because the heavy lifting is done on a server somewhere.
>>
>>51759743
Didn't even know this existed.

And nothing of value was lost.

Wtf thunderbird is dead NOOOOO
>>
>>51761843
Mozilla is looking to spin off thunderbird, nothing has been done yet. Thunderbird and Firefox are competing for developers and Thunderbird has been getting the short end of the stick because it's the less popular of the two. Mozilla is thinking of either leaving its development to the community like Seamonkey or allow Thunderbird to join with another organization.

Refine is better.
>>
>>51762028
Oh idc then. Can stay how it is for rest of my life I'll still use it
>>
>>51762822
If anything thunderbird might improve. The thunderbird devs have been thinking of doing a complete rewrite because a rendering engine like gecko is a lot of code to maintain and an email client doesn't really need most of it especially the XUL/XPCOM parts of it.

>Mozilla is thinking of either leaving its development to the community

Isn't this how it is already?
>>
>>51762990
Mozilla still has employees on it for backporting security fixes. The community isn't really equipped to keep its version of gecko up to date so firefox and thunderbird are drifting farther and farther apart and it's starting to become a mess. They're planning on letting the community or someone else take over the development entirely.
>>
>>51763087
Maybe that's for the better, but I'm afraid. I really like Thunderbird and there's really no other big alternative.
>>
>>51759743
Mozilla confirmed for bankrupt (thankfully, now they won't have to keep ruining firefox anymore).
>>
Ubuntu phone is more exciting anyhow

And I just spent $60 on a firefox OS device.

Oh well, guess I gotta put Android on it.
>>
>>51759743
FirefoxOS was DOA
>>
>>51763143
>>51761843
I don't see why it really matters. Thunderbird just werks and email isn't radically changing any time soon.
>>
>>51764037
True, but at least the security fixes are welcome.
