Why should anyone go for openWRT?
Your experience with it?
Benefits?
no one?

Sounds interesting. Need to try.
Just run LibreCMC and be done with it. I run it on my router and it just werks and protects much freedumb
It is easy to mange through the command line and is much more stable than shit like DD-WRT.
Basically the best firmware, use it if you can.

i like tomattos interface better
but even if you dont give a shit about the features
install it to have a better dashboard
shits super fucking easy to do
you can also monitor network usage per IP which can be handy to prove your roomate that YES its his netflix eating up all the data
OP here
I just did it on TP link WR941ND v5
heres short overview of the interface
I was afraid its CLI only bullshit from googling
seems pretty slick, but seriously I done it like 3 min ago only

i like it. been using it for a couple of years on different router models. i always check for openwrt compatibility now before i buy a new router.
it just werks, allows me to configure my router exactly the way i want it to be without too much trouble.
10/10 would compile and flash again
