To be fair a there are a lot of douchebags on /g/ that pretend thinkpads are the only good thing out there and shitpost a lot about them. But they are actually really good and even a T410 which you can buy for less than 200 euro's now is more than sufficient for most tasks (and just as good as any new 800 euro priced laptop).
Obviously if you are going to be gaming on them or require graphically intensive tasks they suck ass. But so do most ultra books which cost at least 4 times as much.

A small room with little to no ventilation isn't guaranteed to be public. If it's public and indoors, it is unacceptable. If it's a private location, then I say the vaper(s) should be courteous just as the people around them should be; most people won't care one way or the other if they're in good company.
