OK so my kawaii card (pic related) has been a hardy little fucker for a while now, but its really beginning to show its age. Should I be holding out for whatever nvidia has coming in hopes that it drives the price of the 980 down, or should I shoot for something else (7xx maybe?).
AMD need not apply. I do 3d anim work and don't have time to deal with the no drivers meme.

I'm looking into a 690 as an upgrade from my ATI 6950. Was going to go with AMD again but fucking so many games cater to Nividia nowadays and have specific settings that cater towards Nividia cards. Also 690>R9 390x so yeah I would say the 690 is a good choice
