I had a medical exam last week. At the auditory test the doctor asked me if I'm a musician. He did one of these graphs and I was able to barely to hear over 8khz. Apparently, that's what qualifies as a musical ear these days, medically speaking.

This reminds me of when a roommate of mine bought some $1000 pair of speakers and various audio "gear," set them up, then acted amazed about how good they sounded for about 15 minutes before he realized his computer was still plugged into his old $30 computer speakers.
Then he realized his multi-hundred dollar amp had some built-in high pass crossover so his set up had like no bass, so we just used my cheap logitech 2.1 setup whenever we had a party or people over. Fucking audiophiles... waste a grand on useless speakers then a couple months later he had trouble paying rent, what a worthless human being.
