Thank you TimeMachine™ and TimeCapsule™

do people not know how to write cronjobs or something?
the only backup I need isgit push
I still haven't restored all data from my last backup after new OS installation, and my backup hdd is full

But my last backup wasn't a long time ago.
In fact, I do continual backups rather than one big one every now and then.

whoever is not retarded have it automatic
windows with filehistory
mac with timemachine
linux with rsync/cron
But I'm using Chrome OS.

feelsgood
I currently have a 1TB HDD and 256GB SSD in my PC, both of which I back up to a 1TB external drive that's disconnected all the time save for when I remember to backup. Important docs and pictures sync to Google Drive (>inb4 botnet)
I was interested in RAID or setting up RAID on a NAS, but RAID is only redundancy, not a backup. If I have to backup yet another system that's too much hassle (and $$$).
So now I'm considering a constant backup solution (like Time Machine), but my concern is that if I somehow get infected with ransomware (unlikely but can still happen despite Common Sense 2015) those backups will be pointless. This really deters me from setting it up in the first place.
Should I set up an auto backup with an always connected drive? Is there a way I can do this without exposing it to malware? (Like a software switch that ejects/mounts the drive).
Or should I keep just doing the connect/disconnect routine and relying on my memory to backup?

it's like you hate data
OK
I don't ever back up my stuff because I don't have the storage space and I don't really care.
Muh cloud.

You need to commit before you push, cunt.
If you forget, you still lose.

thanks mr backup man
what drooling, utterly braindead dumbfuck doesn't backup their data? hell, legit retards even know better.

dumbfucks who don't give a fuck?

good double

Are you stupid? One stray cryptolocker will fuck all that up and backups are supposed to protect against that kind of thing, not get hit in the crossfire.

It's less convenient but you won't be complaining when some poo-in-loo scriptkiddie manages to lock all of your files because you downloaded that sketchy futa porn in a fit of boner induced stupidity.
...not like that's happened to me or anything

i keep important work files on drive and dropbox
i can redownload any of these videogame music movies horseshit
