This may sound like mountainjew propaganda but it's actually a deep message: Only people who lack of self-confidence, self-respect and a bit of class would go for a fake watch in order to impress other people.

I might do one for the low end and poorfag sector at some point during this week.

Mostly going to focus on Orient (new),Seiko (new and vintage),Vostok (new and vintage), generally about slav watches,Citizen, low end Casios. HMT's will be briefly covered.

Anything else to add in the under 200~ range?

I'm just going to make a shitty pastebin version with text for starters, like that shit /hpg/ has.

As far as microbrands go, like Obris or Tisell, i don't think i want start going down that road (too many god damn companies to cover).

Sea-gull are good but can be a little pricy, and bagels&Soki will be covered. Though it's going to be based on the overall opinion here on /wt/ on the latter two.

As far as no name swiss brands, it's mostly about what model of ETA they are using. I'm aware that 2836 and 2846 ETA models can be easily found at good conditions in around 100$ (with a delta of 25%). Though again, this is a very grey area, but via the movement it's deducible how much is the watch really worth (core value i guess), and the rest comes from the finishing, looks and overall appeal.

this one
>>
>>51705655
I could take off that Omega logo and put a Patek, VC or JLC on it and nobody would notice. Not that anyone would care in the first place, it's just a shitty old boring watch with nothing special in it apart from MUH HORLOGERIE that doesn't really mean anything in real life. Your buying an old watch, not the factory that made it.
TL;DR: watches like these are an absolute bore. The Cocktail Time is at least unique and interesting.

Funfact, the tuning fork movements used in omegas were developed by max hetzel, aka the man that did the original accutron 214 movement.
>>
>>51706026
I like this.
>>
One of the later tuning fork movements used in the 720Hz omegas:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvIeSQ-NOH0

The rotor is attached to the tuning fork itself, uses magnetic gears, etc. Pretty neat shit. Some more info on it is here:

This is just not true. 37 is fine if you aren't a fat neckbeard.

As for 34/35 have an old Caravelle, my ded g-pa's. It's 35, looks small, for sure, but that was the style of the watch so it looks good.
I'll give you a more contemporary style, under 37 might look a little off.

I'm thinking of getting a watch with a higher antimagnetic rating (something like a Damasko DA36) . Has anyone here had trouble with their watches getting magnetized? Searching online, I see that some people have had their watches magnetized from leaving them on tablet covers, working on laptops and near speakers.

On the other hand, I haven't had any trouble so far.

>>51711266
Is this problem actual for quartz? It's stops, when i put magnet on it, but after that watch works normally
>>
>>51711358
When a quartz watch is exposed to too much magnetism, it can stop permanently. It takes a lot to do that, however- more for a digital than an analog. G-shocks are good for resistance.
>>
>>51711358
Remember, quartz movements are powered by a stepper motor which has a magnet in it, enough magnetism can cause that to behave improperly by either changing the magnet itself or by changing the magnetic field of the case permanently.
