Name one thing atom does what emacs can't

protip: u can't

I do actually. The start up time is starting to get on my balls, though. I generally open it once or twice a day but it's still irritating.

Tried it after using sublime but it has some weird font rendering issues on Linux. Everything looks super freaking fuzzy. Couldn't deal with it.

Jesus Christ. It's gotten better, but sublime text is just better all around for large files.
>>
>>51688859
Why wouldn't I just use atom where the default theme looks 10x better than that.
>>
>>51688911
It doesn't, but okay.

I don't give a shit if some P.C. douche has a spastic attack over eggplants posted on their own code, but rebranding someone else's project with the site's namesake because "WebM For Retards" made someone's slow kid cry is overstepping boundaries. If the actual condition isn't even called "retardation" by people in the field anymore, how is it offensive at this point?

>muh reel work xD
"Useful" work isn't done in an isolated one-manufacturer environment, its usually dirty-work that requires you to support multitudes of platforms, languages and systems, which is something that VS just doesn't cut.

Sole exception being a certain branch of enterprise development (a.k.a as being a .NET code monkey), which requires enterprises to spend tons of money just to even establish such an environment in the first place and pays of by being able to hire cheaper developers (you).

Atom is the only editor that does this. It takes longer to open than gimp or inkscape, or any comparably heavy software. This is unacceptable.

I started using ST today.
