Are you pi-curious /g/?

Linux in my anus is a go

Yes, but I don't know how to begin or code.

how do you connect it to /g/?
>>
>>51664609
You delicately insert bigger and bigger usbs until it's big enough to handle a wifi dongle like a slut.
>>
>>51664543
I'm a trilinear chipgendered otherpin.

You may address me using the "jur" pronoun.
>>
>>51664853
Well, you take the cake.
>>
>>51664556
1. install an SDK on your PC
2. learn how to code
3. code
>>
Too overpriced. Might as well have an apple logo.

i'll wait for a $3.50 computer.

$5 or make it yourself with a rambo knife and electrical tape.

Where to get that cable
>>
>>51666948
Amazon, monoprice, Newegg
>>
>>51664543
What happened to that other $5 board that was getting constantly shilled on /g/ a while back. Because this BTFOs everything else in the price range.

Ha
>>
>>51664543
How powerful is it, compared to the other pis?
>>
>>51667142
700mhz single core and 512(?)mb ram

The pi 2 B model is quad core 900mhz with either 512 or 1gb ram (your choice)

I'm not sure about the graphics capabilities but that doesn't really bother me all that much desu.
>>
>>51667176
Sweet, that's plenty to dick around with. Hopefully it'll consume 1W too or some shit
>>
>>51666987
C.H.I.P.?
>>
>>51667238
Yea it does
>>
I'm full on Pisexual.
I own two pi 2 b
>>
How do these do with emulation? I would like to use it for gameboy and/or NES.
>>
>>51668854
They work excellently for that purpose.

You can 3d print a gameboy case and use a raspberry pi for the brains, then emulate every game boy game ever.
>>
>>51666987
CHIP has wifi built in which automaticly makes it 100% more useful than any of the Pis.
>>
>>51668854
It's great for 2D emulation, just starting to falter when it comes to emulating a Macintosh Quadra. I've played GB/GBC/NES on a 90Mhz dot-matrix TI calculator before, so the even the smaller Pi should excel at them, even with some room for graphical filters and enhancements.
>>
>>51666791
Does the pi support this cable?
>>
Can anyone recommend an as-tiny-as-possible solar panel that I can incorporate into a handheld rpi zero emulation console for infinite power?
>>
>>51666791
One of the USB ports is only power dipshit
this doesn't work
>>
>>51669514
There no point to this really, you'll still have to plug it to a power hungry TV.
>>
>>51669541
No, my plan is to use a very tiny screen with it and incorporate that into the console as well.
>>
>>51664543
I'm curous how many of these fit in your anus, OP.
>>
>>51669541
you can also SSH to it if it's on the network (adapter needed)
>>
Ordered mine more than a week ago and it still hasn't arrived
>>
>>51670494
Good luck, people on ebay are paying $150 for those things because they're sold out probably until next year.
>>
>>51664543

Would MHL-HDMI be enough to power this thing assuming it supported MHL?
>>
>>51670688
It's the new meme.
>>
The Pi zero really interests me but since it needs several adapters to really do much, its not THAT much cheaper than a normal one. It would be interesting to see a cluster made with a bunch of these since they're so small but I have no real need for that, and again, the adapters might cancel out any cost/size advantages.
>>
>>51669523
Yes, the left one. You can see that it only has two pins. And it is being used for power, so yes, it does work. Faggot.
>>
>>51669523
Yeah, notice the power supply right next to it?

I was thinking about building a π-cluster for learning/playing with big data ideas and distributed computing. Good idea?
>>
>>51664543
for the Zero? nah
>board: $5
>hdmi adapter: $2
>OTG cable: $2
>USB hub (you might have this on hand): $7
>shitty wifi adapter (or Ethernet adapter): $10 (around $15 if Ethernet with built-in USB hub)
>keyboard, mouse (you probably have these): at least $7 for each
>hdmi cable (you probably have this): $2-5
>case: $4
>8GB or better microSD card (you might have one of these): less than $8
you can get some of this shit for cheaper than listed, these are ballpark numbers, I'm assuming you're getting free shipping on everything (whether it be due to you having Prime or you ordering from DealExtreme or some shit)

getting it useful costs money
if we're going to get it to one of the large Pi's connectivity standards, you'd need the HDMI adapter, the OTG cable, and the Ethernet USB hub (totaling around $19 of extra shit, final price is around $24)

I have a Pi 2, barely do dick all with it though. I set mine up enough to be a somewhat useful computer, but I have a bunch of other, faster machines, so it goes rather unused. Last time I powered it up was when I wanted to play Wipeout 3 Special Edition on my NTSC TV (as far as I know, there's still no NTSC patch so I can play it on my actual PlayStation).

>>51668854
pretty much anything would be fine for that
the Pi 2 is fast enough to do solid PS1 emulation
the Pi 1-tier models are a little slower in single core performance, but more than enough for NES and GBC
could probably do GBA but I haven't tried

>not just getting the orange pi pc for $15 and skipping the cost of all those adapters you need.
>not realising that with the cost of the adapters included the orange pi pc is the far superior product
>quad core 1.6gh + 1gb ram orange pi pc
>single core 1ghz + 512mb ram rpi zero

you people are desperate for a bad deal it seems.
>>
>>51664543
That was fucking terrible

infinite data??
infinite power??

for that I'd recommend the pi zero because it's smaller.
but 99% of the people falling for the $5 meme would be better off with the orange pi pc.

do you have it on github or something?

just Python with PyGame and Pyro4

iirc xebmon1.py is where the bulk of stuff is.
