Am I crazy or is there no such as '64 bit memory'?
>>
Nope, just retarded
>>
>>51657567
I thought that was an Apple advertisement at first.

Same

In general, this means that memory is organized such that a single fetch transfers the specified number of bits. For example, 64-bit memory could be 4 chips with 16-bit data lanes. Video cards typically have much higher number of bits transferred in parallel.

Wtf
>>
>>51657567

Of course there is, but there's no point in mentioning it in marketing material.

DDR1 to DDR4's data bus is 64 bits wide, or 72 bits with ECC.
>>
>>51657567
You might also be crazy, since you took a picture of the screen with your camera.
>>
>>51662063
The DDR modules are 64-bit, but the actual chips are less. Most ARM designs aren't using 72-pin modules or 64-bit as far as I know.

Just got one, it's actually great for the price.

I took the pic with my phone to send via MMS to someone, but it did feel a little silly.

Not as stupid as FAST.
>>
>>51663244

You can almost hear the snot dripping from the marketing persons nose.
>>
>>51657567
There is 64-bit addressing, which of course is necessary for more than 4 GB of memory, but other than that, no.
>>
>>51657567
all depends on how you code you file system

It's called recurring acronym

GNU means "GNUs Not Unix"
WINE means "wine is not an emulator"

Could be the same with Linux.
Linux Is Not UniX
That sounds retarded to be honest...

>>
>>51657567
from the thumbnail it looks like an apple ad

why are they trying to clone apple so fucking bad?

Seems like a overall very shitty company, i mean seriously who would copy someone design style that bad besides baglesport.

They can't even create their own designs, i'd certainly never listen to anything they had to say.

64 bit memory implies that the bus lane used to access the memory is 64 bits.
The main advantage of 64 bits over 32 bits in terms of memory is that 32 bits is limited to 4 gigabytes. For phones, it's a gimmick at least for now. We'd have to wait a while until we see a proper usage for it for phones. But if you want a future proof phone. You should get it.

All of the consumer brands treat their customers like idiots; they typically are.
>Surface Book
>"DYNAMIC FULCRUM HINGE"
I think Microsoft has even taken the crown, the previous king of marketing bullshit being Apple's graph, with the performance "multiples" labeled "1x" and "2x."
>>
>>51667272
>bagelsport
I don't know what that is, but it sounds like it'd be really good with cream cheese or peanut butter.
>>
>>51667272
Who fucking cares what the marketing looks like?

The actual product is.. just a generic plastic blob really. Not very apple like at all.
>>
>>51666293
Linux derives it's name from a combination of Linus and Unix, not an acronym
>>
>>51668292
But the hinges fulcrum position actually changes during the screen opening, anon, what are you whining about
>>
>>51663383
Filesystems have nothing to do with it, turd.
It's all about computer architecture.
You can write instructions that operate on any word size you want.
This literally just means "ayy we have instructions that operate on 64-bits at a time like everyone else has for at least the past 10 years"
>>
>>51668292
but Microsoft's hinge is actually new and different, it warrants a buzzword whether the hinge is actually good or not.
>>
>>51666622
>Anonymous
That was I was thinking. I'm familiar with 32bit vs 64bit processors being able to access 2^32 and 2^64 memory addresses, but i was pretty sure the memory its self had no n-bit spec.
>>
>>51668860
A 64 bit processor would mean that, but I'm pretty sure this phone actually has a 32bit instruction set
>>
>>51665607
>Anonymous
I took the pic to send to someone via mms along the same question I posted here. Was more convenient than sending a screen cap to my phone
