I've been using winamp since the late 90's, but support for winamp ran out a few years ago. I still love it and don't think i'll switch but what do you think /g/? Is there a better player that I should be using?

Winamp just werks and has tons of plugins, I've yet to find something that supports Milkdrop. Only downside I can think of is that it's pretty slow and bloated compared to foobar.
I haven't gotten to sa stereo tool yet, but classicpro is a huge difference in functionality/usability. I had no idea it even existed. Thanks for the heads up!
Didn't someone buy the rights to it and claimed they were going to support it again?

I'd recommend foobar. Especially if you like tinkering with your software to make it work like you want. Default foobar is pretty bad, but there are so many plugins that quickly can make it mimic or surpass any other music player.

only issue I have with foobar is that sorting albums by recently added is difficult to do without the tags fucking up.
are you using default or columns?

I'm using columns, with es_playlist for my library view.
I can't help you with that though. I'd assume there is a plugin that can add floating metadata to files somehow. That, or a plugin that can read the file's "date modified". But I've never needed to sort by recently added, so I'm just guessing.

I used to use winamp but I thought the UI didn't look good and the window wouldn't maximize right for me so I stopped using it (after two years). Now I use Dopamine just because it looks nice actually.
