>the very latest build of Windows 10 STILL uses an old, low resolution VPN icon from Windows Vista

Only Microsoft would be able to overlook basic shit like this. What went wrong?
>>
>>51650046
So what?

Stick to Linux you smelly autist. Windows is for normal people
>>
>>51650094
>Stick to Linux you smelly autist. Windows is for normal people
but I am using Windows.
>>
Too many cooks

Most Microsoft employees don't even come to work
>>
Every new version of Windows has always been full of ancient archaic crap no-one even used when it debuted in Windows 98

But somebody might complain so dear god don't get rid of it but let's get rid of the start menu.
>>
>>51650046
There's no glory in managing improvements like that.
>>
>>51650125
why does everyone always give Windows a free pass when it comes to these issues? This shit has never happened with OS X
>>
>>51650046
I couldn't care less tbqh

you guys have pretty low standards

Windows 8 and 10 are full with Aero icons and design, lol. Took you this much to notice?
>>
>>51650046
>Apple "it just werks"
>Microsoft "just make the shit work"
>>
look at the "computer management" if you think one icon is bad.
fuck MS.
>>
>>51650046
give feedback then..
>>
It irritates me to no end you can't change the background of the Lock screen. There's an app for it but it crashed my windows
>>
>>51650688
you pay for it, why would you invest time to make it better?
>>
>>51650688
if it was open source I would have personally submitted the change
>>
>>51650750
>>51650765
didn't say you have to, but if it bugs you why not tell them?

This is MS thing. I mean how long was Program Manager still a thing? W7?
>>
>>51650046
there's a shit ton of icons that need an overhaul.
I'd rather have them fix useful stuff instead of an icon I'll never see.

>but if it bugs you why not tell them?
are you implying that out of the thousands of people that work at Microsoft, someone hasn't noticed? Please.

This is about them not caring. Not them not knowing. Even if they DIDN'T notice it after all this time, that would just go to show how oblivious they really are.
>>
>>51650046
fucking gross

>>51650723
same, don't bother with it 'till MS implements.
>>
>>51650723
>It irritates me to no end you can't change the background of the Lock screen
Microsoft doesn't have that kind of technology yet
>>
>>51650046
It's because Microsoft is spilt into competing divisions that don't really collaborate.
>>
>>51650046
>>51650884
It's because the design division is based in India.
>>
>>51650958
Fucking why?
>>
>>51650973
Indians can't into design. They can't into pretty much anything. And India because it was the cheapest.
>>
>>51650046
>windows 8 came out 3 years ago
>it was likely in the works for 2-3 before that
>they've had almost 6 years to work with the flat, metro interface and make it visually appealing and consistent
>it still uses vista icons for front-facing applications that are seen by the user every time they open the start menu
>it still uses vista icons for critical settings and other applications that are seen frequently by most users
>in an era where designing an icon is as easy as drawing a shitty angular sketch of something in paint and vectorizing it

>>51650958
god I almost hope you aren't trolling, I really do, because it would literally explain everything

why is modern technology so fucking aesthetically half-assed?
>>
>>51650553
>it just werks
lol yosmite
>>
>>51650776
It was removed from Windows XP Service Pack 2
Quite awhile, but not quite as long as you thought
>>
>>51651012
But Microsoft is rich as heck and Bill has all the moneys as you know.

Trying to cut costs this way only leads to a loss of money in the end and shitty Windows for us.

Case in point - Windows phone being shit (could improve but it's on life support)

2 - Windows eight and its horrible user interface, like Skype app only working when you directly use it
>>
>>51650146
It's not a "free pass", it's just the bar has been that low for so long now it is very strange to be indignant about it now as if it were a new thing
>>
>>51651030
>why is modern technology so fucking aesthetically half-assed?
Outsourcing to India to cut the costs. That is the main reason, and MS is probably one of the companies which outsourced the most. Latest trend is putsourcing to Eastern European countries, for larger cost but a lot better services and trained people, in countries such as Poland, Romania and Ukraine. Hoping for a better future.

Well, I can't explain it either.

Isn't OS X supposed to be more of a premium product?
>>
