Is Fedora a respectable OS?

No.

I had more trouble getting my fairly common graphics card to work with fedora than I did when I used arch, anon

Mirukawa, the cutest and most flawless living being in existence.
>>
Yes, it's backed by Red Hat and Linus uses it. Shame about the name though. They should rename it 'Blue Hat Linux'.
>>
>>51627859
Yes. it is great. My favourite.
>>
>>51628487
this is seriously a good idea

has there been talks of doing this?
>>
>>51628537
Not that I know of. I suppose they don't think it's a big deal.
>>
>>51628476
Her hair is horrible.
>>
>>51627859
Correct me if I'm wrong, fedora is "upstream" of redhat linux, meaning it's bleeding edge. There are plenty of downstream derivatives/clones. Scientific linux (which actually isn't all that scientific) and CentOS come to mind. Scientific Linux and CentOS provide stability in a very similar (and better named) package.

Looks like the chick from Mythbusters.

The distro predates the meme. Or do we need to change the name of anything every time a new ebin maymay comes along?
>>
>>51628874
>Fedora
>Not stable
>>
>>51628487
That actually sounds good...

C'mon /g/, we can do it!

Linus Torvalds uses it, therefore best distro.
>>
>>51629580
I use it, and honestly I'm pretty happy with it.
Only issue is no gpu because my laptop uses a manual switch, but the integrated hd 3000 is plenty for my uses.
No Linux distro supports the fucking sony stamina switch ;_;
>>
It's a bit bloated for my liking and doesn't have enough packages available, you will likely have to compile some more obscure software yourself if you want to use it.
It's mostly decent though.
>>
>>51629006
you take that back!

also yeah, fedora is actually pretty nice
>>
>>51629706
Most of obscure packages you need is in https://copr.fedoraproject.org/, it is rare you need to compile something.
>>
>>51629706
what is rpm fusion?
>>
>>51629746
Basic shit that makes fedora usable. It's not even comparable to AUR or copr.
>>
If someone is using Fedora with GTK, I would recommend to use this as file picker.

>>
>>51628487

Just fork it and call it Asshat.
>>
>>51629841
But Firefox uses gtk3 in Fedora 23.
>>
>>51629876
>not using GNU IceCat

Pretty much sameshit as Firefox, except using gtk2 and respects your freedom.
>>
>>51629892
Gtk3 Firefox has pixel-perfect smooth scrolling and runs natively on Wayland, unlike gtk2 Firefox.

it's name is actually fucking FEDORA what the fuck do you think its a respectable OS
>>
Best package manager, best artwork, best standard desktop installation, good balance between bleeding edge and stability

if it had bigger repositories it would be almost perfect
>>
>>51627859

Not until they introduce an intermediary branch between release and rawhide, similar to Debian Testing.

Also not until Fedora fixes both Anaconda and their text installer. WTF your installer is broken...

>>51627859
Are fedora tippers respectable people?
No.
Here's your answer.

>>51628476
thank you ms skeleton
>>
>>51629841
Any reason it's not merged upstream?
>>
Yes.

I have used Fedora on my T430 for over 2 years and never did I had to clean install it since the first installation.

It just works.
