Correct me if I'm wrong, fedora is "upstream" of redhat linux, meaning it's bleeding edge. There are plenty of downstream derivatives/clones. Scientific linux (which actually isn't all that scientific) and CentOS come to mind. Scientific Linux and CentOS provide stability in a very similar (and better named) package.

I use it, and honestly I'm pretty happy with it.
Only issue is no gpu because my laptop uses a manual switch, but the integrated hd 3000 is plenty for my uses.
No Linux distro supports the fucking sony stamina switch ;_;
It's a bit bloated for my liking and doesn't have enough packages available, you will likely have to compile some more obscure software yourself if you want to use it.
It's mostly decent though.
