I think you're full of shit OP, I work on huge, heavy load projects and renders usually running 30+ tabs in google, few projects in various CAD programs like Revit and some rendering going on in the back and I have yet to get close to my 24GB limit. You don't understand, while the page file is technically not needed anymore due to an abundance of RAM, that does not mean that operating systems and programs will magically reprogram themselves to do without it.
Windows and OS X expect there to be a page file and you will lost stability and performance by getting rid of it. Just like productivity programs need scratch space even if you have 128GB of RAM in which to render your video or edit that photo.
