just bought a sapphire r9 390 and im thinking about buying some fans for my case since i currently have only one. what are some good fans? there are literally so many different variations of fans that i dont really know if ones better than the other or its just different names.

was thinking about buying some Noctua NF-F12's, but they're pretty expensive. what are some really silent fans that are relatively cheap?

no fans

>>51620095
stay with noctua and coolermaster.
>>
>>51620128
by relatively cheap i mean around $10 to $15.
the NF-F12's end up costing me $20 and $40 for two fans seems a but much.

All noctua fans are noisy. I own a noctua ppc fan, a noctua d14 fan for my super small micro atx pc and noctua grey redux fan. The redux fan is very loud when spliced to my 12v power adapter to the wall socket cooling my headphone amp.

thats the worst thing about trying to find good quiet fans, theres always a couple of people that say that any fan you consider is noisy. regardless of what the brand is.
>>
>have noctua dh-14
>fractal define r4
>can hear the bearing in the fractal stock fan
>why not more noctua

statistically someone (out of thousands) will get a loud fan
even the quietest fans will have this.

also people have different sensitivity to things

>redux
>12v wall socket

add a pot in there
most the time fans don't need to spin at full speed so turn it down

1. buy larger mm fan
2. glue on rubber slices to where you screw it into the case
3. enjoy your quiet, cheap fans.

bitfenix spectre, plain black, 6.99, good performance and low noise.

Please don't overspend on noctua, please don't buy into the coolermaster/corsair hype

Fractal Design HP12
>>
>>51625153
that what im trying to avoid. i dont want to spend all that money on some fans and then it turns out theyre not as good as they were made out to be.
>>
>>51622959
don't promote homosex on a christian board.
>>
>>51625194
I mean, noctua fans are good, really expensive fans are pretty much all good, but they're an ultra-luxury item. They aren't practically much better or different than good basic fans at a fraction of the price. Something like this bitfenix spectre or fractal design fans will move the air and do it quietly, there's no chance you'll be disappointed with them.

alright, ill just go with the fractal design Hp 12's.
but heres another question.
how many fans do i need? ive currently got one at the top of my case and one at the back. ive got two front spaces available and a side panel available.
