I think they're pretty well regarded for the build quality of their cases.

If I were to build a new desktop computer I'd get their PC-Q35 in black.
It's $150 where I live, I think. It could be worse.

Some of their bigger cases are just way too expensive.

>completely toolless
>good cable routing support, i.e. space behind the mobo tray, hooks for zip ties, etc

Some people have had physical movie and music collections for years before any of this downloadable media has come about.

Physical media is still extremely prevalent today. Pretending that you'll never have a use for a 5.25" Bay, that has more options than just being for disc readers, is absolutely stupid.

They can be used for much more than just holding disc drives.

I would stop using optical media if I could help it. I like to be able to buy CDs, though, although that has only ever happened like six or seven times. I am an unapologetic pirate, but I still value being able to procure media legitimately without having to deal with some shitty DRM-riddled Internet service and its vendor lock-in. When there's a better way to do that, I'll stop using discs. For now I also still use CDs in my car, although I wish I didn't.

>>51576976
When I bought the PC-B10 I didn't think I'd like the door. I thought of it as a con, but settled for it because I liked the rest of the case so much. After living with it, though, I quickly decided that I like the door a lot. I never turn my computer off and rarely use the disc drive, so I almost never have to open the door, and it looks really clean. If I used the power button or the disc drive a lot the hassle wouldn't be worth the aesthetic benefit, but I don't. The PC-B10's successor, the PC-B12, doesn't have the door and now I consider that a con.

A lot. Custom CAD work wouldn't be too bad I'd you can do it yourself, but machining the parts would be exorbitantly expensive unless you do a large run of them.

That's why those little mITX cases that came around (I don't remember the name) had a Kickstarter or whatever before they were produced. Most of machining costs are for tooling & setup, so you basically HAVE to have a large run of them.

Materials aren't that expensive.
It's the labor cost of the machining that's going to kill you.

If you have the CAD file ready, you're still looking at a pretty complicated operation to make the parts that appear to overlap.
It doesn't look like something that would be possible to cut from one solid block of aluminium, at least.

And I should know, I'm a machinist's apprentice.

The angled surfaces look pretty complicated.
You'll have to factor in time to mount all the parts in a vice or with bolts, so it depends on how many different parts you're looking at - making the entire surface from one single block isn't possible, I think, from the looks of it.

If you design a CAD drawing of the thing and decide how many parts you want to assemble everything from, it'll be simple enough to get a quote from a machinery shop.

I guess it could cost more than $1000 if you're just doing that one case.
But then again, I don't know what a machinist gets paid where you live.

Here it's $80/h. or so, I think.
Labor for the guy at the machine takes about $50.

Yes that. My GPU has never broken 65°C even in the heat of summer, I haven't had to clean my GPU out yet, and there's virtually no dust on it. The filter itself is very easy to clean and easy to remove and put back on. For a mITX form factor, the temps are pretty great.

The filtered side panels are pretty much the best thing about the case tbqh.

>poor front air flow
You need to have a static pressure fan running at full speed to get any decent intake from the front
>restricted top air flow
You COULD put a radiator at the top, but the air is going to get trapped under that top housing because of limited space between the radiator/fan and the vents
>"removable" top radiator mount
This is literally a gimmick, because even if you do mount a radiator onto it before installing it in the case, there is no physical way to install the water block onto the CPU. Vice versa, there is no point in removing the top radiator mount because your tubing will not be long enough to let you remove the top mount all the way.

Anything that has 5.25'' cages, 3.5'' cages, not tooless, PSU on top, not mitx, doesn't come with 2+ 140mm+ fans, and doesnt conserve the most space possible to just prevent thermal throttling with a stock CPU fan and open fan GPU is instantly dropped by me. ie, it doesn't exist so I'm forced to keep my money until one of these moron manufacturers gets it right.

It's a BMW-esque case. Delux (the company that made it) designed it that way. They also made an Audi styled case, and JNC (Deer's european division) did a Mercedes styled one, along with KME (Keymouse Enterprises).

It's aluminium you idiot. I don't think anyone actually makes stainless cases, most steel cases are painted (at least on the outside).

>>51576141
A lot of Lian Li cases have USB 3.0 upgrades, you just replace the board at the front that holds the connectors. Many of the cases use the same boards so there's only a few different options, typically 2 ports, 4 ports, or 2 ports and 2 audio connectors.

>>51576590
Decent build quality, good looks, and plenty of spare and upgrade parts available. There's also loads of options including some weird shit, I mean who else offers a train or shell case?

The only bad thing is they're a bit old fashioned, don't expect decent cable management options and fancy quick release shit.

THIS. I have it and it's the bee's knees.

The handles are needed because it's fucking heavy and it makes it so easy to move around and work on. Quick release sides make it so much fun and easy to open up and work on. It's big inside too with lots of options for drive placements, fans, wiring, etc. And it's not black, silver or white. It's fucking olive drab!

They just stopped making them. They went for around $130.
>>
>>51583438
Yep, the false back, bottom mounted gpu, plenty of room for cords, the side comes off with ZERO issies, and completly off so you always have room. Hard drives are in quick removal rubber trays, 11 fan mounting options with 2 oversized mounts up top...i mean everything, EVERYTHING makes sense on the case.

Can get the gunmetal black edition of the case for $109 right now on Amazon. If you are interested in the case at all I would JUMP on that deal. I would rate this case a 9.5/10, mainly taking points off that you can't choose a nice solid acrylic window. Those vents aren't needed at all.

I own this case and have done a few modifications to it, and I just love it to death.

I understand needing a full atx case like the 900d if you're doing extreme water cooling, but Jesus fucking christ that's absolutely way more massive than a 900d. Most of the builds I've seen in that case make it look empty as fuck anyway, so you better be planning to pack that shit in.
