Should I get the FX 8320e or the 6350? And, on the GPU side, should I get the r9 380 or gtx 960? For reference, I'm coming from a FX 4300, and a gtx 550 ti. I'll be using it on a 1680 x 1050 monitor.

the 8320 is only 20 bucks more. there's a chance that more threads mean more performance in the future.. plus you have more power for non-gaming stuff.
I dont really know, there's not much reason to go for it to be honest. however since it's only 20 bucks i'm probably gonna go for it
Definitely the 380, its much better and is cheaper.
Get the 380 but forget about the cpu. Wait for the new cpus or the next gen. For now just overclock your cpu for the extra frames. I have an 8320 clocked to 4.6ghz. On Valley benchmark I get about 60fps average on stock settings. On the overclock I get 79-80fps. I get the same frames when clocked at 4.4 and 4.5 so the 4.6 is definitely unnecessary. At 4.3ghz I get like 70fps or so.
I don't see the 8320 being worth an upgrade at all. Might as well just save 5 or 10 bucks every week and buy a cpu when new ones come out. That's just my take on things. I'm also using 2 gtx 770s btw and Valley is on the extreme preset.

Yes, I got a 20 fps increase on just a simple overclock. If you can, do the same. Either way, I wouldn't upgrade to an 8320e or whatever. I know you don't want to buy a new motherboard but right now is not a great time to upgrade CPUS. I almost bought a 4790k bundle with a mobo, 8 gb of ram and some free game all for 400. Or the 4690k for 300. I realized that it's not really worth it at all. So just stick with a 4300 and 380 and save up little by little for next year.

I honestly can't comment on that but I would assume so depending on the game. You can always turn things down like AA and play on high. The card is a great card for 1080p high settings 60 fps. Most games will run perfectly fine but of course there will be some games that are not optimized well or need to be patched after launch for smooth game play. Still you can always do 1920x1080 on the ultra wide as well if need be.
