I never really understood why people would buy SSDs for boot times? Booting is a one-time thing, there are so many other great things about SSDs (no moving parts, fast read/write times), why get hung up on the boot time? Unless you go full potato and keep restarting your rig all day?

It is not kit OS boot times, but all programs. Including the big ones like Photoshop, CAD software, etc. They go from 45 seconds to open, to less than 4. As it sits, the second I can see my desktop, I hit my key binds to open Firefox with several tabs, vlc player, and steam and they all open at the same time in less than a few seconds.
I also have an ssd for games. Big games like fallout and other heavily modded games benefit from quick load times. It used to be that a 120gb ssd was $90 and since it was so small in capacity, people would get it for the OS and utilities only. Now a good 500gb ssd from Samsung could be had for $150.
Having been using ssds for boot, games, and only using next disks for storage for several years now, I couldn't go back to using a pc with no ssd. They're slugs compared even sata2 based mediocre ssds in overall response time and useability,

I paid around $225 for my Asus Crossfire IV. I wanted 2x 16x PCIE capability for maximum sli/crossfire speed. The built in audio is better than my previous m-board, and the BIOS software is fucking great.
The motherboard is the central piece of your computer, cheeping out here will cost you later on when your forced to replace it for upgrades.
Bought a $400,- Gigabyte motherboard when it was 50% off. It comes with the option to replace it with an equal one in 3 years for free. Not a bad deal I think.

My B85 Xeon1231v3 setup beats my friend's overclocked I5s that cost 200-300$ more in multithreaded tasts and is 10-15% slower than overclocked I7s on the same socket. However for the same money as the overclocked I7s I can buld a much faster LGA2011 system.

Even if you overclocked to 5GHz, I doub't you'd get more than 5-10 additional fps. Once you go over 4GHz you get big dimishing returns. It's not really worth the money, especially for games.
If you want to run old games, get a G3258.

Because it's wasted hardware. You can use it to push secondary monitors and reserve your main for your dedicated, like I do, or use it for QuickSync encoding. There's all kinds of things you can do with the iGPU that takes a load off your system but /g/ just acts like it isn't there.
