>1 USB

Welp atleast we can't complain about the USB sharing the same BUS as the ethernet.
>>
>full-fledged 1080p-capable Linux machine for LITERALLY $5

We are truly living in the future
>>
>>51545568
What is the fucking point if it has no ethernet?
A computer without networking is literally just an embedded microcontroller
>>
>>51545591
>what is USB to Ethernet

It sucks that you have to use that but for $5 you literally can't beat it.
>>
>5 dollars
>no LoRaWan, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi or Ethernet
>>
>>51545473
I'll totally install XMBC on it and watch animu!
>>
>>51545611
shit the adapters for USB to Ethernet are going to cost more than this fucking thing.
>>
>>51545611
>5 bucks
>gotta get atleast micro USB to usb OTG cable 5-10$
>Then you gotta get a fucking USB Powered HUB 15-30$
>Then the ethernet adaptor 15-30$

You're already in over the price of a regular pi.
>>
>>51545611
>USB and ethernet sharing the same bus
I didn't think you could make something objectively worse than the Raspi2.

>>51545640
If it wouldn't play on a P3, it will not play on this thing.
No 10-bit.
>>
>>51545591
No eth sucks, but just grab a $5 Chinese USB WiFi adapter. Can't complain for a $5 server, if not desktop.
>>
>>51545626
Expecting it to be a regular "into the trash it goes", I actually kekked when I opened that image
>>
>>51545690

It's like you hate your life or something.
>>
>5$ for 1GHZ and 512mb of RAM

why are we still paying 600$ for smartphones weaker than this thing? if only there were 10$ touchscreens and 10$ GSM connectors and I could by own free (as in freedom) mobile phone
>>
>>51545717
you're also paying for the radio, screen, battery, case, manufacturing, design, marketing, etc.

rapsis literally market themselves now because "makers" all feel the need to buy one as a fashion accessory even if it goes into their trinket drawer never to be seen again.
>>
>>51545655
looking at aliexpress:

>gotta get atleast micro USB to usb OTG cable 5-10$
try 0.6$
>Then you gotta get a fucking USB Powered HUB 15-30$
try 3-5$
>Then the ethernet adaptor 15-30$
try 2$
>>
>>51545712
I'm pretty used to it at this point, I can't connect my desktop with Ethernet, and power line drops connection all the time.

A good directional antenna and reliable adapter work wonders.
>>
>>51545777
>several weeks of shipping time
my time is worth more than that desu
>>
>>51545812
order now and it will probably come before the zero is available again
>>
>>51545777
>Several weeks of shipping time
>Shipping fees
>Customs Fees
>Customs shipping fees
And then you still don't know if the crap you got fully works.
>>
>>51545848
To be fair. If you order from AliExpress it's free shipping and no customs shit.

Well. I guess the customs depend on your country. But I've never had to pay a cent over the initial asking price.

The long wait is the only drawback.
>>
>>51545473
What's the appeal of these little tech-turds anyway? Most people have proper computers and smartphones to develop on.
>>
>>51545848
>Shipping fees
Nah all free shipping
>Customs Fees
>Customs shipping fees
I don't know how your country handles that but in mine orders under about 30$ are completely free of any taxes or custom fees
>>
Does this one require nonfree bloobs to boot too?
>>
>>51545536
>holes for headers
>>
>>51545878
It's fairly hard to fit a desktop PC into a tiny space though.
>>
>>51545655
Oh oops I didn't notice it was microusb only. I stand corrected.
>>
>>51545878
Mostly for media center usage or small projects like making an airplay stereo conversion nowadays.
>>
>2000$ for a new Macbook

>/g/ hates

why?
>>
>>51545905

> not having the skill to solder a header in 2 mins
>>
>>51546820
because the macbook plays their 10bit encoded animus better
>>
If you could cluster them do you think there would be any point to buying 100 of these for a dank super computer?
>>
>>51545777
>aliexpress
the only thing shittier than doing business with jews is doing business with chinks
>>
>>51545473
Okay, does it require nonfree blobs to boot, is it possible to hook up a Bluetooth/WiFi transceiver to the GPIO, and would this thing be able to handle streaming animus to watch on my old ass 480p TV (and if I'd even be able to hook this thing up to that TV)?

if you used it as a shitcoin miner maybe
>>
>>51546898
That's $500 for 100GHz and 51.2GB of RAM.
Surely it would be cheaper to just buy the components separately and make a custom board to use them all, and then you'll save the overhead of all the SD slots that aren't in use.
But game consoles is usually where you get some good cheap hardware, since they are usually sold at loses to be made up with game purchases.
Some big company/government agency bought a couple hundred PS3s and linked them together to make a supercomputer.
>>
>>51546820
>5$ for a new mini pc which can do the same the Macbook does
How can you achieve such levels of delusion?
Can't even compare it to a hundred dollar thinkpad
>>
>>51545905
So when did you come over from reddit?
Haha so nerdy am i right? XD
>>
What can I do with it?
>>
Is there any way I could get Netflix and Amazon prime playback on this?

Also I have a Ethernet to USB adapter.

>512mb ram
>single core 1ghz

Or for $17 including shipping you can get the quad core orange pi pc.
>>
>>51545532
usb wifi dongle + usb otg cable/connector
load what you want on it, then detach

it's probably not going to be on that all the time given it's size, if you want that get a raspberry pi 2

it's more for embedded computer projects

the only thing i think it's missing is audio in/out and not through the hdmi port
>>
>>51547444
Literally nothing. I've owned mine for a little over 3 years now and

1.) Spent ~4months using it as a XBMC media hub. Chokes on anime (10bit), chokes on XBMC occasionally. Its not fun to use and your money + time is better spent on a Chromecast/AppleTV/Old laptop

2.) For hacking/FIY projects, its alot easier to get started with a cheap Android phone. You get a screen/radio/battery
>>
>>51545532
Seems like this is more for programming purposes. Basically a step above the arduino.
>>
>>51547226
>That's $500 for 100GHz and 51.2GB of RAM.
>100GHz

since 2010 posts got so stupid that you can't even tell anymore if shit like this is shitposting or actual ignorance
>>
>>51548734
I realize that is a lot, but that is 100GHz divided by 100 CPUs.
>>
>>51549102
That's not how processor speed works you retarded piece of excrement.
