I'm really considering switching to the Note 5. I have owned every single iPhone since the 2g came out back in 2008. I have had the 5s for around 2 years now and I'm really sick of it. Both the price/utility and the actual usefulness of the phone sucked. Is the note 5 worth it? Any technical problems in software/hardware I should be weary of?

Samsung Galaxy is literally the most lag-extensive, bloatware packed, locked down overpriced shit which will blast out all atrocities which are possible in Android onto your first impressions of the mobile platform in general and as a whole. I'd preferably recommend something from Motorola, HTC, LG, or the like for which the benefits and advantages of Android are truly applicable.

Get the z3/z5 instead, for that amazing battery life.

Samsung phones are actually a lot nicer than /g/ makes them out to be. They usually copy apple so you can expect a lot of similarities between it and your previous iPhone and their more recent phones aren't laggy in any sense.
I recommend going to your local carrier and trying out various Android phones and see which one you like.

To be fair not like the nexus has replaceable battery or micro SD card slot so even Google's own phone fails to be a good Android device by your standards. Touch wiz is improved and even then you can always replace the launcher.
And yes actually keeping up with the competition is a good thing it means it actually has features that could be useful to op.

Note4 is still good, but if he personally doesnt use an mSD card, and doesn't use removable batteries. Then the Note4's only advantage is price as the Note5 is a decent bit more powerful.

Don't listen to these faggots. The note 5 is God tier. No lag and I do a lot of intense shit on my phone. Multitasking is flawless. I've literally had five pages open at once all on the screen with no interuption, but I only did it to see what it was like. The battery last me all day long on a full charge, and even if I'm dicking around on YouTube, I can fast charge the bitch back up in no time. Bloat ware is no problem since you can disable anything. There's nothing wrong with this phone, just like the iphone. Anyone talking about battery issues and lag literally just listen to people who talk and make memes and don't own or ever held a note 5.

Sorry but if ANYONE gets shit the generation for a SoC running hot, it isn't samsung.
The Exynos 7420 is the clear SoC of choice in 2015, the only problem is samsung doesn't sell it to anyone else (besides Meizu).
Exynos 7420 was built on a 14nm LPE process.
SD808 and SD810 were built on a 20nm HPm process.
If you aren't sure how microarchitectures work, here is a quick run-down.
The smaller the process node, the less power is required for the same performance. Less power means less heat, less heat means less thermal throttling.
Exynos 7420 beats SD810 simply because samsung has a better fabrication facility, they can fab. at 14nm while SD810 is stuck on a 20nm process. This INHERENTLY makes snapdragon hotter, slower, and use more power.
For you to claim the Exynos 7420 stutters and gets hot is just you being a retard. Or you simply have no idea what you're talking about and you're repeating only what you've heard from others.

So if it's an N4 or an N5, I call bullshit on charge time, and if you're getting that then it's cause you are probably using it very sparingly and always in a full signal zone.
Speed and count as the iPhone 6? You do realize that there are architectural differences as well as OS optimization differences at play here and that comparison means nothing, right?
So lemme see here, you have rooted your Nexus so you can run software to optimize your hardware, you might even have installed a custom ROM too, which invalidates the comparison since it's not stock vs stock. If you were to do such things with the S6 or Note 5 you would likely see equal or greater gains while maintaining a very smooth user experience.
Stock Note 5 vs Stock N6 is no contest, the Note 5 takes every point.

Further, as has been said MANY times in this thread, touchwizz is good on RECENT samusng phones (n4, S6, N5). And I highly doubt you have used one of those running 5.1.1 for more than a moment.
Feel free to claim whatever version of touchwiz you used is shit, but please refrain from passing judgment on something you've not used, especially when all reviewers have been praising samsung for moving away from the over bloated touchwiz and moving closer to stock android, which FYI, samsung agreed with google to move touchwiz closer to stock about a year ago, and this is the result of their work, the current touchwiz which is much lighter weight and far closer to stock android than ever before.

I was one of the ones who preordered it on Tmobile and got it a week early.
Best phone Ive used since the iPhone 4 I got in 2010 (inbetween Ive owned a cheap lg). Battery life is stellar, it has never crashed or reboot, and is the fastest phone Ive used
Also the over saturation thing is a meme, it is the best phone display, can be modified in settings, and saying its over saturated is also saying that the nexus phones are too, since they bought panels that were on the S6/Edge

This phone is godlike. Best camera, and camera speed I have ever seen. Best screen, blazing fast, amazing features with the s pen. I came from an HTC one m8,had an m7 and a nexus 4 prior. The note 5 is a masterpiece. A true legend.
I love this phone more than any piece of technology I have ever had. Touchjizz meme is just that. They have added improvements I have always wanted, and more. Dual screen mode is awesome.
