Owners of the gtx 960 could you tell me about the card, and if it is worth it? No amd vs nvidia please.
>>51535511
Only if you can get it for under $180, honestly.
>>51535511
Sure OP
I have the 2GB Asus Strix and its just fine
Fall Out 4 at Ultra but with God Rays at Low I get from 60 to 30 fps when in high combat
>>51535511
I have the eggs ssc 4gig card. Runs everything fine. Gta v on ultra generally fine. Sometimes stoops down. Only cause I push it
>>51535511
It is a decent card if you feel you don't need a more powerful one.
>>51535511
not really...
The only reason I got it was because there was no other alternative at the time for that price. Now that it's a year old, I'd rather go for AMD, who have better performance at that price range.
Crimson drivers have given AMD a whole new performance boost too.
>buying 128bit memory bus video card
>2015
please do not do this
it sometimes goes on sale for ~140 USD for the 2gb version and ~170 for the 4gb version, at that price, sure.
>>51535511
2gb is not enough and the memory bus bottlenecks the 4gb model
Either get a bigger budget for a better card or buy a used AMD card with decent amout of vram.

Looks like auto correct scrambled your post m8

I think its a great card. I bought one for $180 then found another for $100 on craigslist. At the time that was like $50 less than the 970 and out performs it.
On 1080p you can get away with the 2gb card but the the 4gb would be the safer bet.

>it outperforms it
Umm wtf in wtfs name are you on about you fucking idiot?
>>51537733
2x 960's in SLI > 1 970 everyday of the week
Works fine for me but I only use Linux so....
It'd be worth just to get a GTX 970
>>51538158
If you really think buying 2 960s is better than just getting a gtx 970 then I'm afraid you're suffering from a bad case of purchase justification syndrome.
>>51535535
I have the same exact card. It runs cool and quiet, and performs pretty well.
That said, if you don't desperately need a new GPU, I'd wait a little longer, because both AMD and Nvidia are going to be making a big leap in performance during the coming year thanks to moving to 14/16 nm nodes instead of the current 28 nm ones.
>>51535511
I got the 4GB version.
I'm satisfied.
>>51535511
For 1080p and nothing crazy its a good card.
But for its price you better off biting the bullet and getting a used 290x/390/970

1080P it's a great card. I have an EVGA 4GB Gaming. Runs anything I throw at it at high settings and provides a smooth experience. Good budget/ casual card
