>Guys, virtual reality is finally going to happen!!!
Every time VR is developed, it fails hard. How many of you are falling for the hype? VR is going to be dead in five years, anyway.

I've been saying the same thing since Oculus rumors appeared. It has already failed, and the whole concept been laughed at, by Google no less(with their cardboard. You don't think that thing is serious, right? Right?)
I think it's too early to say whether it will flop or not OP.
Certainly more likely to succeed now than the late 80s/early 90s as the hardware now exists to make a convincing VR simulation possible.

not this time, nigger
it's like tablets. they all failed until the ipad came along.
I still think it's quite awkward to have that immersion but you still have to control yourself with a keyboard and mouse, or a controller if you are a plebian child who shouldn't be playing games in the first place.

>Every time
One time 20 years ago?
It its current form, VR is just a screen hat you strap to your head. It can have its uses in simulations (for training purposes) but it will be very limited for other uses.

Because this thing is literally a CRT with shit resolution and nonexistent tracking strapped to your head.
Now the devices are way smaller, lighter, more responsive and with much higher resolution to overcome VR sickness.

That you strap to your head which tracks your head movements*
Very important distinction

Check out Control VR. It's much more immersive rather than having a controller and a box strapped to your face
>>51521081
Have you even tried it? It may be a "screen strapped to your head" but the experience is a lot deeper than that fäm.

This
Can't tell if troll or not

Problem is equipment like this will never catch on with self-conscious normies.
It needs to be sleek, aluminum and allow you to gossip via social media.
I keep seeing cringy sex-simulators on the web. This shit is really not helping the image of VR.
Screw VR.
AR is taking over.
>>51521160
In the end there won't be any difference, as a VR device can do AR by camera pass-through and an AR device can do VR by modifying the whole field of vision.
Also I think it's apples and oranges, one can't be "better" than the other, they have different uses.
And you plebs better start learning C# right now

Hence the "mixed reality" buzzword used by Micro$oft

>BORN MOBILE
Checklist for VR Suite:
HTC Vive.
Virtuix Omni.
Control VR.
...
...
Ju-C Air.
We need something beyond virtual reality. The fact of the matter is that VR will always fail to satisfy and that we either need integrated reality or the brainternet.

>what is cardboard
There will be soon a solution to use your smartphone as a display. Then all you need is a piece of cardboard and some lenses.
>mfw $300 for a rift kek

>Every time fire is developed, it fails hard. How many of you are falling for the hype? Fire is going to be dead by the the next day, anyway.
Literally cave man thinking. 150K years, and these inbreds still roam the planet.

We didn't have Skyrim sexlab last time around.

Who the fuck are you quoting???

Have you tried VR porn? It's a life changing experience.
