Lookin to buy a new monitor for a build I'm workin on this comin Friday.
Both monitors natively support 1440p, 144hz, IPS and g-sync. In 1 corner we have the Acer Z35, OCs to 200hz, curved monitor 2560x1080. The other Asus ROG Swift, OCs to 165hz, flat panel 2560x1440.
So /g/ which one do you think I should sell my soul for?

1440p 144hz IPS
>>51517405
But muh FOV.

Then get the fucking acer.
Go away.

OP isn't ASUS ROG swift consider pretty much the best monitor at the moment? But at a high price.
>>51517695
Yes I know but I like the wider work space and the FOV. So its hard to decide.

These are obviously aimed at gamers. But I wonder who can run current games @1440p @144fps?
Older games like CS or quake of course, but is it only targeting those that play older games?

The new rig I'm building will be on an X99 mobo with dual SLI GTX980ti which should be more than enough for 1440p at 144 fps but they don't make curved monitors that are both 1440p and ultra wide at 144hz. Only at 75hz but its also an additional 400 dollars.

Never thought there would come a day that Asus or Acer would actually be considered high end.
Man, what a century!

I get decent frames with dual OCd 8gb 290x in most things without AA but I'm an AA guy so I really don't.

>SLI 980tis
>enough for 144fps/1440p/full ultra
Thats iffy even with releases from a month ago.
Between 120+hz display and SLI cards you're doubling down on technologies that are half-assedly supported as-is.
But do what you're gonna do, not my money.
Not OP but I've been planning to either get a ASUS PG279Q or Acer XB271HU the next time they come in stock. I've heard a lot of shit about the ASUS panel, but apparently a lot of XB271HU haven't been sent. I don't know which to get, help me /g/.
