Not even memeing, generals are more suited to reddit than a chan format. Because the threads die people post the same shit over and over again expecting different people to see it and give input. However there are hardly ever more than a handful of new people because these threads are created 2-3 times a day. This leads to circlejerking and general faggotry, just like reddit.
You fix this problem by creating new, interesting threads and contributing to good ones, not complaining like this.

I don't even necessarily think generals are the problem with /g/, it's just the general pleb mindset of the board. There are so few people here that are actually passionate about technology and the majority of them seem shallow, bitter and money-obsessed, only coming here to shitpost, troll, get free tech help, or brag about all of their toys like it's some super special accord to own a generic mid-range logicalincrements gaming build or a popular smartphone.

No, that really doesn't fix it. A lot of /g/ threads are actually fundamentally benign in terms of the topic, it's what's in those threads that's cancerous. Three people making "interesting" threads they like won't really mean jack shit when they either turn into off-topic shitposting wars or go straight to page 10 because the "greater community" would rather get help maximizing their Fallout 4 framerate or baiting fanboys of a product they don't like instead. The topics in the catalog are just a byproduct of the cancer, not the actual cause of it.
