Am I a douche wanting good microphone technology for teamspeak?

ye
u should kill urself
If you truely want good sound, you need a boom mic and a boom mic operator. Or are you too poor for good sound?

Not necessarily. An average condenser microphone and a few noise reduction filters through Audition will do.
I use a USB Rock Band microphone mounted on a £10 arm/clamp and a £5 pop screen and get fantastic sound for Teamspeak/Voice overs.

nope, I spent $300+

I fell for that meme once
Twice actually because I bought a second one.
Because I thought it was defect.
Because it was so horribly quiet and noisy.
But the second one was just as bad.

No, my mic setup is around $1000 and all I use it for is voice chat. Make sure you ignore every retard that tells you to get a condenser mic, you want a dynamic. ATR2100 or AT2005 if you want something plug n play. Otherwise spend more on an SM57 or large diaphragm dynamic like an SM7b, RE20, PR40. An SM57 can be used with just an interface like a focusrite 2i2, but the others will need a dedicated mic pre in the $200-300 range or a cloudlifter CL1.

Do you have any other recommendations?

Sounds fine to me to be honest.
If it does have the quality presented in this video it is good enough for me.

Both of mine were almost unusable in voice chat. But like I said, I think mine were defect or something. both. Or somehow incompatible, I don't know.
The ambient noise of the mic was like 4 times as loud as me, and I had to have it directly in front of my mouth in order to not sound way too quiet.
In Skype I could either louden the mic, which made everyone hear horrible noise all the time, or I could be so quiet that they wouldn't even hear me.

I ordered one. Do you use a soundcard? Many people reported problems when they did.
If mine doesn't work I'll get a refund. I don't have anything better to do anyways.

Nah I plugged it right into the motherboard.
Good luck
