The perks of having a grandfathered unlimited data plan on Verizon and using 3rd party apps for free tethering.
This is only during a short period, god knows how much I've wasted during the entire time I've had my plan

How do you upgrade your phone without losing your unlimited data?
>>51499663
I buy a phone on Ebay without a contract and just switch it over, pretty easy actually.
Jesus christ OP. When did you get that plan?

Sometime in 2010
Id love that, but wasnt that plan expensive in the first place? I could see it being worth it if you use it has your primary internet service, but I couldn't in my situation.

I believe it was $99.99 a month but OP can correct me if I am wrong.

They've recently added a $20 fee for unlimited data users so now it's more like $109.99
They're trying really hard to make people stop using it.

Nice, do you use Foxfi or PdaNet+ by any chance?
That's what I use for my hotspot/tethering, though recently Verizon cracked down on Foxfi so I'm stuck using USB tetheringm

I'm in Montreal, I think I once had an unlimited plan but can't remember for sure. It was with Rogers. Now I have a6Gb per month plan for 50$ (including everything else). I don't use a third party app for teetering. It's built in Android

Their cheapest unlimited data included plan was something like 49.99 for 450 minutes and unl. texting, plus $30 for the data plan.
As of the 15th they are charging unl. subscribers $50 a month for the data, making the cheapest plan $100 total before fees, taxes. It's probably about $110-115 all said, not including an insurance plan or any add-ons.
For some people, $50 for a phone plan and $50 for an unmetered 20-40Mbps connection is not only the best internet option they can have, but the only worthwhile one.
For example I have two choices - a shaky 1.5Mbps DSL line for $35 after promotions end or a 20Mbps cell-type wireless for $120 (assumed before applicable fees) which customers say is inconsistent, unreliable and the support is terrible.
