I've clocked mine at 4.8GHz and it's still fast as fuck and still no reason to get Skylake.

Next upgrade will be Gtx 680 lightning to something like a pimped 980 and a 500GB ssd to replace my 640 WD black HDD which houses all my gaymes

Which model of the SanDisk SSDs is best? Seems they've got all these fucking names like extreme, ultra, ultra II, plus... all BS.
My NEW desktop build this year has a used i5-2500. The only thing better would be an i7 because muh virtualization but otherwise it's a top-tier CPU. I could easily see myself using this for another 3-4 years.

Got a 4790k for dirt cheap and a free 200 dollar z97 mobo, so Upgraded from my 2500k then sold the board, ram and cpu to a friend for 200 bucks.
He is quite happy, he was using some shitty ivybridge i3.

With PCIE3.0 support. That can be quite important, given that intel jews up on the amount of pcie lanes.
My 3570k can't OC past 4.2ghz without raising the voltages a lot... I need something like 1.4V to run 4.4ghz stable, and the thermals become insane at that point (and that is after delidding and using liquid pro).

I think the Q6600 was a huge fuckup by intel, I still use one as my daily driver, and while I'm saving money to replace it, its still a powerful enough daily pc for a internet use.
