I bought 2x 3TB Seagates in 2013.
They BOTH died weeks apart in June 2015.
Meanwhile, All 6 of my fucking HGST drives are working perfectly..and I've had them since 2009..AND I USE THEM MORE OFTEN.Yes they're 3TB models too. There's just no excuse for it.

No. Statistically they're more likely to fail on you, and as for me personally I have a seagate barracuda 3 TB and it's the loudest and most poor performing HDD I've ever used. I also have a WD black harddrive in the same PC and it's awesome in comparison.

Tosibah: also very bad product. Had several 1tb and 2tb die on me all around the same time. It works fine for about 2 years. Than problems and none have made it for 3 years. So don't work with this garbage.
Seagate: I have one of those 1tb. I have been working with it for over 4 years and no problems. I gues they are not that bad.
Lacie: very good. I had been working with some but they are less than 1tb so I don't know if that counts. But I have them well over 10 years and are still working.
WD: these are the best from what I know of. 8 have several 2tb and 1tb. Been working with them for 3 years and no problem. I stuff them real full and they are all still working as brand new. Never had a problem with these.
