am i the only one hoping debian will realize how fucked up the whole systemd thing is and switch to openrc or even back to fucking sysv-init ?

What is the appropriate use then?
I do it all the time, it works for configs fine.
>>
>>51453084
What's the asterisk for? You seem to have no idea what sudo rm -rf / actually does
>>
>>51456413
For echoing something like that you can just use > or >>. Tee is useful when you need to echo something to a file you don't own.

Salut, gros pd !
Sympa les triple chiffres.

I used >> before, but it doesn't work with sudo, and I need sudo to edit pretty much any restricted config. I switched to echo | tee combination specifically because it works with sudo.
I can't be bothered to sudo -s most of the time too.

it actually does nothing

Oh, it's actually what you meant.
Well, I just picked an example of a file in home because I couldn't think of a reason why you would have "bitches_i_fucked" in /etc.
And I use tee for the files I own purely on inertia. The syntax is not that much harder anyway.

Isn't this one basically fixable with a single reload? rm -rf / is more destructive.
