Mhm sure. Does it even have the sophisticated sensors like the GearVR? ( samsungs are apparently top notch and they have the help of John Carmack for their software). However, the simple fact GearVR only works on the S6/S6 edge/S6 edge+/Note5 means it only requires app developers to focus on making their apps work on one SoC with 3GB of RAM and a 1440P display. Google cardboard and other VR headsets suffer from the simple fact app developers have to make their apps simple enough that any phone can work with it, or the majority of phones anyway.
GearVR is simply on another level.
Also, 1/6th the price? That headset is $89.99 on amazon. The GearVR is $99.99.

Well OP apps are pretty versatile and it depends on your needs. What I couldn't go on with is an ftp server so to wirelessly transfer shit without bothering with cables like a pleb and also some wireless file-sharing app that uses http which is faster than FTP when for example transfering large video files without the slightest hassle. I use Share via HTTP and FTP server from f-droid. If you plan to root it then it brings up a lot of potential possibilities but desu you'd lose the warranty and I'd wait a year until that expires to root it. Although I did root my Note 4 about 3 months after I got it to find out what's causing battery drain. Apparently it was the gallery that was indexing my 50k+ gallery by face, location, landscape, flowers, food, pets, etc. Every time the phone booted and it would take about an hour (~20-30% drain). Also over 80k files in .faces and corrupt files. SD cards are shitty; I'm glad they got rid of them on the Note 5 for normies but still let-down by the lack of choice.
